In an Unrelenting Journey....lets see whats the smallest thing that brightens your day?
I just wanted to shout out to everyone as we are all at different stages in this journey and I guess as Im recovering from surgery I'm thinking of all of you. Thought it would be great for us all..to share something good that we're grateful for in this moment...it's hard!!! Cant be positive all the time and the journey can be unrelenting and we feel badgered to the point of breaking and no return. But as I sit here, and I look back at my journey the past 6 years, I have tears rolling down my cheeks thinking WOW I went through all that, and sometimes you can't breathe when you remember. It is hard to look forward with any certainty or peace. We feel every emotion possible and sometimes feel we're not entitled to. One word that comes to mind thinking of everyone is "COURAGE" for all of you at the beginning, doubting there is anyway you can rise to the challenge. Take one hell of a deep breath..and I promise you, you absolutely will and even in times where you felt you couldnt and I had plenty...but you will RISE every single time.
So what is the smallest thing that brightens or lifts your day?
Mine is...Im sitting overlooking my garden, sipping Green Tea and the sun is shining, soft music playing and Im just peaceful in this moment. I'm grateful to just sit here, complete simplicity.
Hugs Everyone Melinda xoxo

- NeMemberI cuddled my puppy this morning and (hope I don't gross anyone out) sniffed her ear because her ears have a familiar smell that just makes me feel so relaxed at the smell of it. I'm so calm whenever I have a lie down and she snuggles up near my head and rest her head on mine.. the smell I get from both my dogs is a weird kind of comforting smell that makes my brain very happy. I'm grateful for puppy cuddles

That was beautiful Wendy!! Thank you!!! I have an affinity with Dragonflies and my connection to my Mum...thought Id share...xo - wendy_h67MemberHi Melclarity, I found a little note book I was given when I first started treatment. On the front cover are the words Angels are everywhere ! And also a funny little sketch of an angel with her hair standing on end. Inside the note book are the words---
Sometimes we feel that we are all alone, as life brings us challenges to over come and hardships to bear. But when we least expect it, help can appear. It may be a kind word from a stranger or a phone call at just the right time, and we are suddenly surrounded with the loving grace of God. Miracles happen every day because angels are everywhere. Sending you love and comforting hugs. - Brenda5MemberI hope it plays, this cheered me up today. Her giggling and saying this is the best day ever. https://www.facebook.com/Storyful/videos/10154634011928541/
- lgray3911MemberThese guys brighten my day everyday. I feel so lucky to have had my babies before I have to deal with the poison of chemo that can destroy that dream for so many women. Looking into their eyes and getting those early morning sleepy cuddles is the best way to start my day.
- primekMemberTough time for you Melclarity. My son is also experiencing severe depression. He has done so for years and sort of held it together whilst I was under treatment but now that life is moving on he has dropped really low. As Mum's we always carry the guilt that we caused it. But you and I know we didn't. It just needs time, love, a good tberapist and in my son's case the right drugs to bring him back. X
- melclarityMemberHey Cath! Yes I believe everything in life is for a reason...she reconnected with me last year after 7yrs after my Mum passing. It haunted her and she wanted to make peace, my Mums family abandoned me and mine when she passed, they treated her terribly. She was like a Sister to my Mum and it gave me such love and peace the afternoon we spent together reminiscing, will absolutely cherish it, she missed my Mum. This was my connection back to my Mums family...and so now it will carry on through her daughter who i have become friends with. Everything for a reason...and so life goes on...but we are so the richer for the smallest of cherished moments we get to keep :) xo
- socodaMemberHey my little BC sister, Sending you a big hug. How wonderful that you had the opportunity to reconnect with your mums cousin and share such treasured memories. I have very recently connected with my fathers sister and her family (haven't seen her since I was about 18 months so don't remember her at all) but what an excellent meeting. I think the connections can be bittersweet but then so is life isn't it. At least you have the knowledge that you used that chance to reconnect and can also treasure the time spent with her too. Xx
- melclarityMember@iserbrown It was my Mums Cousin, so my 2nd cousin, and yes unexpected though she was in her 70's. Absolutely feeling blessed I had the short time I had. xo
