Radiotherapy
I session 22 of 25 and skin has completely broken down and peeled off under breast , areas of chest as well as blistered and bleeding and dark red to mahogany colour from under arm all way down side then right across chest and under breast. It’s excruciating- making nauseous. Had anyone’s nurses offered dressings etc this stage - I’ve just been told to use moisturiser and keep breast from rubbing- disappointing at this stage - has as no other nurse available- don’t want to fuss but omg I’m in pain and already on opioids. Any suggestions? 3 to go..

Thank Louise. It's so hard to emotionally prepare so the pill takes all that angst away and I can now focus on the breath and it works. YayLouise64 said:@JMC26 I had no idea what I was in for . It's good to hear that you are starting to feel a lot better - JMC26 I actually found something that helped me alot today, I took a few deep breaths, in and out, before the treatment started. So just while I was laying there waiting for them. I dont know why it helped, maybe it made me feel more calm or something, but it didnt seem as hard to hold my breath. I also count in my head and it never seems to go longer than 10 or 15 seconds. Anyway 8 of 25 done now :) you must be almost there, awesome!!

Many thanks Danny. It does my head in when I cant maintain the breath in the borders and they stop and start again and I wish I could relax about it. Yesterday I got them to tell me when I was half way and that made a huge difference as well as the anti anxiety pill I take 30 mins before each session. I am having radiotherapy every morning at the moment as well, this morning I did session number 6 of 25. I also hate having to hold my breath and making sure that little white line stays within the borders!! They keep telling me I dont have to do it in one hit though.

I will start Letrazole in a few weeks, when I next see my Oncologist.
Every step of the way, there are knew side effects to be aware of.
We can only hope that we are lucky with these, and don't get side effects or they are minimal.
Fingers crossed for both of us.Hi Abbydog, yes so far so good with the radiation, only 3 more to go then I am finished. I started out with MooGoo udder cream, and the nurses gave me pure sorbolene cream. I broke out in a couple of breaks in my skin so they gave me Lignocaine Gel to put on them and when it dries, to use Bepanthen antiseptic cream, and so far everything is going well.I see my oncologist 4th November to discuss armipex if that is the one he is starting me on. I had a bone scan and based on that He will suggest the best one for me.Yes I have my fingers crossed for both of us, as I hope by Christmas my hair will have grown so no more turban/caps and I feel heaps better.Enjoy your day, cheers Cheryl xx - Dear ChezaH.

means. But as side effects vary a lot, it’s sometimes really worth starting a course of treatment to see precisely how it affects you. Remember you can always stop, knowing you have given it your best shot. Best wishes.
