- AliGMemberI am hypertensive and during my four AC round my BP dropped quite significantly so as a result rather than two tablets I have reduced to one which is a real plus. BP remains pretty good whilst having Paclitaxol however I can feel quite light headed at times; particularly when I stand up quickly. Best of luck :)
- AbbydogMemberDear Ween,
That's great news about the genetic testing. Onward we go. How many more Paclitaxels have you got to go?
I'm starting to look forward to the end of Chemo. 3 weekly to go. I'm very lucky and have never felt sick, but my taste buds are off, since Paclitaxel. Today nothing tastes right. I have still managed to gain weight. throughout. Still, I'm looking forward to enjoying the taste of food after Chemo.
Good luck with the rest of your treatment too. - WeenMemberAbbydog
no don't feel dizzy just very weak. Like you it is hard to exercise. Everyone advises but it’s hard when your exhausted after doing chores around the house. I’m much better on Paclitaxel I don’t feel sick and enjoying my meals. I had good news yesterday my Genetic testing came back saying I was negative. This was such a relief. Now I can get on with the rest of my Chemo and radiotherapy. Good luck with the rest of your treatment. - AbbydogMemberDear Ween,
I'm, still on my reduced antihypertensives. If it was due to Paclitaxel, I'm expecting a rise after completing in 4 weeks.
I am monitoring my BP. Funny you should say wobbly on your legs. Do you mean weak or feel dizzy/lightheaded?
My legs muscles and joints feel weak. I know I should exercise more, but usually feel too tired. Overall I am doing well.
It's certainly interesting, the effects of Chemo. - WeenMemberI have had really low blood pressure since my third round of three weekly Chemo. I usually take medication for high blood pressure. My doctor has now taking me off my BP medication. I have now started Taxol and Still very wobbly on my legs. My Doctor seems to think it will get back to normal.
- AbbydogMemberThanks primek, I was just interested in others experiences. I will be on some drug for hormone blocking.
Don't know the name of it yet. May be the same. - primekMemberYes I did. But it's likely my combo effect of AC prior and herceptin as well.
- SisterMemberMy blood pressure was quite low during chemo - never so bad as to be a worry but low enough to need to monitor. If I remember rightly (and my memory is pretty bad), @kmakm had a couple of incidents that I think we're directly related.
- AbbydogMemberIt was discussed. My Oncologist didn't think my Chemo was to blame. My GP wrote the new prescription.
I am home monitoring my BP. It will be interesting to see, if after Chemo, that I may need a stronger prescription.
I was just curious if others had the same experience. - AfraserMemberChemo effects can be many and various. My oncologist advised that chemo could sometimes lower blood pressure. A drop in your blood pressure might occasion feeling faint or light headed. In any event you need to let your oncologist and/or oncology nurse know, so if can be checked. Best wishes.
