Whatever the op is, just know that the surgeon will be doing the best they possibly can for you. I am really looking forward to it too, to be honest with you, but only so that I don't have to keep thinking about it and then start getting on with my life. I won't be having the tummy one as I haven't yet had kids and would LOVE  them one of these days, so my surgeon said that the back one would be better for me.

Take care and will be thinking of you next week and always.

    Hi Laura,

My name is Genevieve. I too and had a mastectomy and am 34. And it sucked. I can't get reconstructive surgery because of where the tumor was. But things are going well doing hormone therapy now. Good to hear your story... I thought I was the only 34 year old in the ACT who had breast cancer. Hope you are doing well!

    Genevieve

You may not be able to have reconstruction using implants after radiation but you can have reconstruction using your own tissue.
See posts on this website under 'reconstruction' , 'tram' and 'Diep'.
I'm glad things are going well now.

I don't think I actally want one. I am getting used to it and don't want anymore surgery ever! But thanks Diane! This is great way to connect with other women. Thank you, Genevieve
