Friday Update 29th April 2022

Hello members

This week has seen the kick-off of the Pink Bun Campaign. BCNA’s 22yrs
partnership with Bakers Delight has raised an amazing $22 million for BCNA. I will
share further details of how you may like to get involved.

BCNA is also gearing up to get back on the road with a program of
in-person information forums over the next three years, the first to be held in
Ballarat in regional Victoria.

April Online Network activity  

April saw the Online Network receive a total number
of 49,141 visitors to the community; 35 new members, 68 new
discussions and 482 new comments.

BCNA News & Events – Bakers Delight
bakeries across the country are turning PINK!




Help BCNA continue to be the voice for all Australians
affected by breast cancer by supporting our 2022 Pink Bun campaign. Head
into your local Bakers Delight between 28 April to 18 May, where 100
per cent of the sales from every Fun Bun sold will go to BCNA. This
year’s campaign shares the stories of BCNA members Megan, Samantha and Nicholas
as they talk about the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis and why BCNA’s

Forum and Breakfast



BCNA will be in Ballarat on Thursday 26 May to host a
breakfast for people living with metastatic breast cancer and an
Information Forum for people with early breast cancer. See information about

BreastScreen Victoria held its first ‘Rainbow
Session’ in Bendigo

Rainbow Sessions are breast screenings specifically for the
LGBTI+ Trans and Gender Diverse (TGD) community. CLICK

Counterpart – Managing uncertainty









Counterpart have an upcoming online workshop (9th May 2022 10.30am-11.30am
AEST) on the subject of managing uncertainty. The session focuses
on practical skills people can use to lift their mood and energy, promoting a
stronger state to deal with the situations that are challenging. CLICK HERE

Register now! – Webcast: Managing
the long-term side effects of breast cancer treatment

In this webcast, we will hear from medical oncologist
Professor Bogda Kokzwara and BCNA Consumer Representative Naveena
Nekkalapudi. Bodga is a senior staff specialist at the Flinders Centre for
Innovation in Cancer where she developed a Survivorship Program and is the
Cancer Council SA’s Clinical Investigator for chronic disease management after
cancer. Naveena was diagnosed with early breast cancer in 2014 and will
discuss the long-term side effects she experiences, her strategies to manage
