Community highlights

Last week BCNA hosted over 200 community champions on the Sunshine Coast for the 2017 Summit - Making a Difference!

Summit was all about building skills and connections with our 200 woman and 2 wonderful men @Chester80$$ and @traveltext. We also hosted an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Think Tank. It was a wonderful event with all delegates inspired to go back to their communities and make a difference.

Help support women with metastatic breast cancer by signing and sharing our petition.

Breast Cancer Network Australia extends its phone helpline hours. 

And don't forget about our metastatic breast cancer telephone counselling service.



This is a great read from the ABC about a team in Rockhampton that get together regularly to sew breast care cushions.

A TV production company is looking for a male breast cancer survivor to act as a body double for a new medical drama series to be shown on the ABC. You would be required to show your scar on camera and need to be based in Sydney (or be available in Sydney between 3-21 April for one day). Winter at Westbeth - After surviving life-changing surgery for breast cancer, 72-year-old Ilsa’s poetry references her brush with mortality – “knowing death so much, I know life” her poem, Moss, makes poignantly clear.
