Just a rant to get it off my chest. I'm suffering from chemo brain, I was almost in tears today at work as one of my colleagues was getting frustrated with me because , I was fumbling words and not giving her information she needed quick enough and I forgot that we needed 4 water bottles replaced I told delivery guy we only need 2 as that's how many empty bottles we had in the office. I knew she was angry with me and made things quite awkward as she was the going to everyone else for assistance so she didn't have to ask me. Hoping tomorrow will be a better day.139Views0likes5CommentsRe: Final round ac has sucked the life out of me
Thanks everyone, so I ended up in hospital for two days last weekend with neutropenic colitis, and I have now discovered I have high blood sugar also and superficial blood clots in my arm. Im thinking this contributed to me feeling so drained from last round. Touch wood I dont get neutropenia again13Views0likes0CommentsRe: Miracle Fruit
The fruit they are talking about is actually called "miracle berry," (Synsepalum dulcificum) . It's little red berry fruit that changes your taste receptors temporarily like for an hour or so. What ever you eat will have a sweeter taste to it, especially if sour or bitter. My work colleague had this tree in his yard and gave me some to try as my taste changed during chemo had that bitter metallic taste to most things. I tried this berry before eating and just gave a sweeter tinge to what I ate. So it's not a "miracle" cure as such for cancer patients something to help make food more tolerable to eat and variety not limited to certain foods while you on chemo.44Views4likes0CommentsFinal round ac has sucked the life out of me
Rant only. I survived the first 2 round A C without much side effects but holy dooly the final two have really knocked me for a six! Lethargic AF and getting tingling numb feeling in my left hand fingers tips dry eyes and mouth thrush coming in at at angles. And as for eating nothing tastes good anymore ☹ and super super thirsty all the time. Getting frustrated at life in general plus have to start the paclitaxel soon which not looking forward after this episode. Cancer is crappy 🤯🤯🤯716Views2likes25CommentsFirst AC treatment day 1
I have just had my first AC treatment today. I'm feeling ok at the moment but I guess I feel bit tired now its 6.30pm was out of clinic at 1.30pm. I feel a bit gassy though in my stomach dont feel sick tho just burping alot although could maybe contributed with the Hungry Jack cheeseburger I ate after I finished? I guess will have to see how I am on day 2 I'm hoping that it will be similar today as I have tolerated ok so far.226Views0likes9CommentsRe: I'm not hideously disfigured...
@jamavon I had a left side masectomy and like you I didn't want to look at it straight away even when the doctor came to check I turned my head away. Then l next day really need to shower so I closed my eyes first before I under dressed when I opened and looked in the mirror I was actually okay with one missing breast. And almost 6 weeks post op it I'm used it now and with the breast insert you could not tell if I had surgery or not.11Views3likes0Comments
