Any ideas ?? ... Tamoxifen drives me crazy
Hello lovely ladies !
I'm on Tamoxifen for 7 month now.
In the beginning everything, except of the hot flushes, was ok.
Now my body starts to ache on every 'corner' ... shoulders, fingers, feet, hips, .... everyday a new piece of it.
Any ideas what could help ? food, exercise, ... ??

- Ro10Member@stemi can you fit in the gentle exercise class on Wednesday mornings with Erin? I've found it to be quite good as it's not a high intensity class but still works the whole body and Erin will modify some of the exercises to suit if you are finding them difficult. It's mainly oldies in the class and I am by far the youngest! ;)Sign in to react to this post
- stemiMemberSo, I went out on our property this afternoon and had a date with our 'Lantana-Jungle' - everything is now cut down. If I will have any back pain tonight I know from where it comes ! Lol.
@melclarity: I started doing Pilates classes ... but I have the feeling I have to do more exercise.
@Mira: Don't know this programm ... will look into it. Thanks.Sign in to react to this post - melclarityMemberStemi - strength training is great and helps, I did the Enhance Program through the Epworth hospital in Melbourne. There are many around in public or private. It was 8 weeks and fantastic! I got a one on one program with a physio. I now have something new happening, through my income protection I get an exercise physiologist, so have an assessment this week and will work with me to get me moving!!! I have found I need people who deal specificially with rehabilitation for Breast Cancer. I had a friend who went to a gym and had no clue how to help her, unfortunately not everyone is trained. Having said that, walking is something I was doing a lot of, but same thing due to fatigue and extreme pain havent been able to exercise at all and is compounding on my ability to work even 3 days which is so frustrating!Sign in to react to this post
- MiraMemberI'm doing the Tiffxo.com one, by Tiffiny from the Biggest Loser etc. Its not related to cancer but I'm really enjoying the program :)Sign in to react to this post

- MiraMemberYou just reminded me! I was getting lots of aches since I have been on tamoxifen but I started a new exercise program a couple of weeks ago and I haven't had the aches nearly as badly. I had almost forgotten about them. :smile:Sign in to react to this post
- melclarityMemberHi Stemi!
I think the hotflushes are more to do with Menapause than meds, I had no pain on Tamoxifen but OH BOY on Arimidex the pain is unbearable in the joints. Like Iserbrown I too was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia many years ago and to be honest I dont think about it anymore, but Chemo impacted it like you wouldnt believe.
With all the supplements, I have to keep reiterating Magnesium above everything is the most important supplement to be taking, as it services over 300 enzymes in the body and helps so many things regenerate. Its great for pain too, benefits are great!
I want to ditch Arimidex and any meds LOL uuugh!!! they are the problem. xxSign in to react to this post - socodaMemberHey Stemi,
I had been getting joint pain, leg cramps, etc and was putting it down to Tamoxifen. Like Iserbrown I have started back again on Magnesium (used to take it) and have been exercising weekdays (been lazy on weekends :D) and have found that my knees are not as sore and less cramps. Whether it's due to the magnesium or the exercise I don't know but it's good and I'll stick with it because of the change. Am also eating a lot healthier too, although still have my special Friday night treat. Hope you can get rid of the aches, they're the pits!! Somehow it's good to read that I'm not alone with this problem - of course it's not nice for all of us ..
I'm just struggling sometimes with 'what is normal and what not' and I'm so over it to run to the doctors ;)Sign in to react to this post - rowdyMemberHi I'm on Arimidex and get joint pain and I take panadol osteo , Glucoasmine and magnesuim, I find this helps
