This Christmas I will be.......
Hi everyone,
This time last year I asked you all to post some Xmas tips and we put some of these tips in an article and sent it to women newly diagnosed with a link to the online conversation
https://external2.createsend.com/campaigns/reports/viewCampaign.aspx?d=d&c=96F7DB74A54F2F70&ID=87D90CE98EBF5B33&temp=False&tx=0
We would like to do the same this year. I was touched last year by some of the conversations around how Christmas now had a different meaning for some of you and the decisions you made about what is important now for you at Xmas time. I therefore thought we could do something around what you'll be doing this Xmas - what is now important to you, do you now do things differently, have certain traditions, activites become more important, are there things you ve decided not to do?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

- StefanieMemberI was going to have Christmas lunch at my place but got diagnosed on November 27 and just had my first lot of chemo today. My eldest sister has taken over and said that she will do it at at her place and I am not to do a thing. I just need to turn up, hopefully I will be feeling ok.
- roseMemberBeing quiet and enjoying some peace with my partner and dogs. I'm not going to pressure myself to be cheery with friends and pretend nothing has happened to me. It's been a tough few months and I just can't do enforced jollity.
- StorkMemberThis year my sister and I will be hosting Xmas lunch at our home it will be very casual, everybody will be bringing the food and drink
on Xmas eve I shall be watching the Carols on the TV with my mother who is in a nursing home we have been watching Carols for the past 30 years
Wishing you all the compliments of the season and hopefully 2019 will be a year full of encouragement, hope and support for what ever happens next year - the good and the bad times,

- ElizebethMemberThis Christmas I will be refecting on the past 3 months and being grateful for still walking this earth..I had mx 5 years ago with extensive DCIS in my left breast..an immediate recon with an implant that ruptured by pec muscle and gave me an infection that took 3 months to recover...then .I actually remember 5 yrs ago in hospital wondering if I would see Xmas day..5 anxious but good years passed till 2018 ..August 13..a new cancer now in the other breast..thankfully not a recurrence ...a brand new one this time small but invasive...so a lumpectomy...radiation and AIs for next 5 yrs...I am not the usual case and thankfully second cancers are not that common..I live each day with fear of recurrence...everyone says don’t..well it’s hard not to after 2 times! But I will live my life to the max...not going to be a servant to it...so live, love and laughter all and let’s have a great Xmas ...we deserve it! Lizzie
- Anne65Member@Blondy I will be thinking of you giving out all those kisses on Christmas Day...with gusto!! You have such a great attitude & it is a credit to you how strong you are so be very proud of yourself & take in all the love your family give you over Christmas & it will help get you & your family through this difficult time. love to you xx
- BlondyMember@Anne65 thank you for your kind words.. I love your attitude and it's sip like mine. Being positive and not wasting time and energy on what you can't control.. Last Christmas I was 9 days into my 1st chemo so belonging to an Anglo Indian family that do a lot of pecking on arrival and on leaving I let them know that I would be bypassing the custom for a few months lol. It would have amounted to over 80 pecks by the time I left. This year I'll relish and give the pecks with gusto. Keep your sunny side up Anne and have a fabulous Christmas
- Anne65Member@Blondy I can't imagine what you are going through but know we are all here with you at this time & wishing you love & strength & support. I hope you, your brother & family are doing OK under the circumstances. You have so much to deal with for yourself, your brother & also the memory of losing your brother this time last year. All the best for Christmas & the New Year & I pray for some positive news for you & your brother to start 2019. love & hugs to you xx
- Anne65MemberThis Christmas I will be....spending the day in Adelaide with both sides of the family, lunch with mine & tea with my hubbies. I will be feeling very blessed to have survived the past year relatively unscathed & feeling so lucky to again be surrounded by my family who have got me through the past 12 months.
I only came out of hospital 3 days before Christmas last year so I was feeling very sick & sore & relied on the pain killers to get me through the day but I am so glad i made the effort as being surrounded by the ones you love on this special day, is the best medicine for us all.
This year I will be looking back very thankful & hoping that the many of you going through treatment at this time will find love & strength from those around them. As hard as it is, I would always try to remain as positive as i could & try not to worry about the things you have no control over..and that is hard. Things change all the time through this process so why waste your energy on something that might not eventuate.
I wish everyone, love, joy, peace, strength & many blessings over Christmas. Be strong, positive & give thanks for all of us being here & together we will help each other in the New Year & years to come. love to you all xxxx - tigerbethMemberThis Christmas I will be celebrating that I & my BC friends are here & living life to the full .
Sharing Christmas day with family(approx. 16) but mourning the loss of my darling dad our first time without him.
Our meal consists of roast turkey , chicken ,ham & roast vegetables ,prawns & salads for dinner , pudding ,trifle pav & truffles ! Usually a walk after lunch for some or sleeping in a chair for others !! A few glasses of Moet will be scoffed i'm sure !
Enjoy your day everyone whatever you do , have fun !
Cheers & a very merry Christmas to all xxx
