This Christmas I will be.......
Hi everyone,
This time last year I asked you all to post some Xmas tips and we put some of these tips in an article and sent it to women newly diagnosed with a link to the online conversation

We would like to do the same this year. I was touched last year by some of the conversations around how Christmas now had a different meaning for some of you and the decisions you made about what is important now for you at Xmas time. I therefore thought we could do something around what you'll be doing this Xmas - what is now important to you, do you now do things differently, have certain traditions, activites become more important, are there things you ve decided not to do?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

- Doin_itMemberI’m so excited about Christmas. Even though an atheist too. It’s all about family get together for me & I’ll have my two grandchildren celebrating their first Christmas. Lots of food fun & love. Oh yeah, & I’ll be finished radiotherapy a couple of weeks before ❤️🎄🤶
- SoldierCrabMember13* was our high today Flaneuse..... with RAIN woo hoo 40mm of it in 24hrs more than months and months of rain combined.
- kezmuscMemberNot too far from me. I'm at Purga just outside of Ipswich.
- FlaneuseMember@kezmusc Fitzgibbon in Brisbane. Hot wind blowing too.
- kmakmMemberI look at the weather. If it's 25° or under, it's a roast. If it's over, it's fancy salads. The latter is a lot more work so I always cross my fingers for the former!
- kezmuscMemberYeah we've got about 36 and a gale force hot wind behind it. Nasty.Where are you @Flaneuse
- FlaneuseMember@kezmusc It's 38 deg here at the moment. Hate to think what Christmas Day is going to be like.
- kezmuscMemberXmas will be at my place as usual. I love xmas with all it's sparkles and always have a great time.
It's the one day I actually put any effort into cooking (blah). Sometimes, I even make sweets which surprises my family no end.
I am assuming it will be better than last year. It was 42 degrees here last Christmas day and trying to cook in that set off an avalanche of atomic hot flushes. My husband was running around behind me with a spray bottle of water. Unfortunately he had put it on stream instead of spray and just ended up shooting me in the back of the head with it! LOL
It all turned out ok with us piling all the food on the back of the farm ute and parking under one of our big shady trees and me spending the rest of the afternoon trying to cool down in the pool with a glass or six of wine.
Me thinks maybe cold buffet this time around.
xoxoxo - arpieMember@BlackWidow. .... Keith and I will be on our own on Xmas Day too - he has moderate dementia so we’ll see how the days unfold from now on! Enjoy your lovely meal .... don’t forget that most RSL Clubs etc have Xmas and New Year dinner celebrations for those who may like a little company .... Our RSL is a wonderful community based club that is very inclusive of everyone. Xx
- BlackWidowMemberAs everyone I know goes off to do the family thing I will be staying home and cooking a dinner for one. I will have a turkey breast roll (lots of cold meat for later), spuds and other vegies - unless I am feeling lazy and jsut make a salad. I will have a Lions club Xmas cake and pudding, though. I have put some decorations up so the house feels festive to a degree, Hope all have a happy and safe festive season, whatever your circumstances. Anne
