I've been looking for a small size hand fan to keep in my handbag for the out and about hot flushes. Finally found a couple in a junky vintage shop last week.
This one made me laugh. First of all on one side there's a platypus and an armadillo (native to the Americas) cavorting together in the Japanese/Chinese (not sure which) landscape.
And on the other side, a man and a woman are in a garden where they're being surprised by another bloke climbing over a wall. What's going on?! Anyone know? What funny things to put on what was presumably an export item.
