See that's exactly what I am talking about. You ladies are awesome. You truly get where I am coming from. Others don't understand because they don't have this shared (but not wanted) experience.
@tigerbeth I can relate to NED - No Energy Dear!!! Definitely been there at times!!
I was talking about this yesterday with family. Some of them seem to think that once a person has cancer others will always think about that person in that way and so it will be natural for people who know you to always ask about your health.
I can kinda see that, even if I think it is a little unfair. Maybe these people think it is the polite thing to do. But for others who want to put BC behind us, or are particularly sensitive, these types of questions can stir up unwanted feelings.
So I have decided to be more emphatic. From now on when asked about my 'prognosis' I will respond enthusiastically and very very loud, "All good. All gone. Nothing more to see here. I am so glad I never have to think about it again."
And while I know that I will inevitably think about it again, this kind of statement should serve as a subtle hint and will shut down any further questions.
