Kisqali/ Letrozel exhaustion

Round 3 and I’m just realising how tired I am.

Before Xmas I could keep going up to 730pm when I needed a bit of a break but now it all seems so hard going back to work yesterday.

My new year resolution is to be the best version of me so I dragged myself back to the Cancer Fit gym before work. I was shocked that my blood pressure before exercise was 80/55 normally 110/70. After a glass of water 95/65.

Is that why I’m tired and should I let my doctor know?

Of course I’m wide awake now in the middle of the night worrying about being so tired

  • Keep sn eye on tbe BP and let your treating team know about this dide effects. I was having heart issues which resulted in my BP plummeting. It resolved with help. Kath x
  • Hi @MeganM, I've been on the same combination as you for the last 13 months, most days I'm OK, but once a month or so, I get a couple of days where I just need to rest up completely, your bp was pretty low though, I'd mention that to your onc next time you see him/ her. This combination is quite easy on me at least, I have found that taking it after my evening meal seems to work best. Maybe ease back into exercise a bit more slowly.
  • Thanks @Wendy55 and @Zoffiel For your sound advice which I’ve mostly taken.

My McGrath Nurse said that it’s probably an accumulative effect of the drugs as the tiredness as been for most of the 3rd cycle. I’m going to revert to taking the Kisqali at night to see if this gives me more energy and go easier on the exercise.

  • Hi @MeganM,
You certainly took a lot on yesterday! gym and going back to work! as @zoffiel said anything unusual let your doctor know, although a good guess would be just organized for work and going to the gym would have tired you out, I do know that the combination you are on does cause fatigue, however we all respond differently to the drugs we are on, there are several ladies in the metastatic group who are on the same drugs as you, perhaps they might read this and put up a post about how they are going, try not to put too much on yourself, going to work full time and doing metastatic breast cancer is a hard enough gig as it is!

  • Letting your doctor know about anything that is unusual for you is always a good idea. Hang in there, this shit is exhausting.
