Femara / Letrozole Side Effects. Thank You Post.

Hi Everyone. This is my first time online. I read a post sometime ago in regards the side effects of letrozole. I wish to say THANK YOU :-) to (and I am sorry I did not keep your name ) whoever mentioned that they changed taking their meds to night time and also was taking Magnesium.I have been taking Letrozole for 4 months now and as I already have osteoporosis. I used to ache all day. Since I changed to night time and Magnesium I am sleeping much better and my aching has eased tremendously. I do hope you read my post. Thank you for making my days much more bearable. :-) T

  • Hi Brightspace. Thank you for your info. I will get some Biotin as my nails are much better but still have a tendency to break. My Caltrate includes Vitamin D or should I take a Vitamin D Supplement as well. ? I also have started Prolia Injections every 4 months. My hair is thinning as well, but I am managing with everything better now. Take Care :-) T

  • @Chea I know you are on Letrozole but for others be careful with Echinacea if you are on Tamoxifen as it weakens it’s effectiveness.

Just thought I’d put up again the site @primek provided me with below for people to check contraindications of supplements.

Sorry had alarm bells as remember when Echinacea first became popular I learnt was not suitable for my 2 asthmatic kids. There is a big list of other contras for Echinacea and may be worth a look @Chea .
  • Thanks...I take caltrate bone and muscle which is only 50mg so I might add that in.
  • Hi Primek. I take 1 Echinacea 2  Caltrate  and 1 Magnesium 500mg a day. All at different times. Then after dinner I take my Letrozole. Hope this helps. :-) T
  • Good that it has helped. How much magnesium are you taking? I currently have magnesium in my caltrate and take fush oil (abd take my letrozole ar night too) but wondering if I need extra.
