- DaisyMarigoldMemberIf you have - or can find - a good physio, they can really help. Mine did ultrasound and laser treatment, and that made a huge difference. Just make sure you find someone who really knows what they are doing. If you're in Melbourne, I'm happy to message you with my physio's name. Best of luck. Daisy.
- CosetteMemberHi @Bluerobyn. We encourage you to speak with your breast care nurse about your discomfort. If you don't have one, you can find a breast care nurse in your local area using the National Breast Care Nurse Directory: https://www.mcgrathfoundation.com.au/OurNurses/FindANurse.aspx. Otherwise, you may like to talk to your surgeon again, or get in touch with your GP or a physio.
- BluerobynMemberThank you all so much for taking the time to write something. It has really helped me and I am so appreciative.
- iserbrownMemberDefinitely massage the breast and keep it moisturised, it is about looking after the skin that has been compromised as well as. Yes bio oil will certainly help with the scar, that was my choice early days. These days I use QV moisturiser; it was recommended by my Breast care nurse. It is a strange sensation having an implant but eventually it all settles. Remember the nerves and muscles have been pulled and prodded.
Take care - socodaMemberHi Bluerobyn, I was advised by my breast care nurse to use Bio Oil twice a day and to massage it in a circular motion along my scar line and that this would help stop encapsulation. Also was told to give under-wire bra's a miss as they can also add to encapsulation. I am now 5 months post surgery and my implant has softened up beautifully in the last month and feels far more like a real breast now. Xx

Hi @Bluerobyn - welcome to the online forum.
Sorry, I don't have any ideas or updates for you as I did not have implants or expanders (tissue flap reconstruction).
Perhaps one of the breast care nurses can assist or one of the lovely BCNA online forum ladies such as @Ann-Marie_BCNA could provide more information.
Welcome again - hopefully some of the other forum members are a bit more knowledgeable on this subject than I am.
Take care, Sheryl xx
