Men don't like Hormone Tablet side effects for Prostate - trying new meds

As a man, I can only say how much more in awe I am of women now than I was BC. I don't know that much about research funding, but I really wish we had better solutions than what we currently have.

No I didn’t mean that. I mean genuinely keeps it to himself until the situation is somewhat worrisome. It’s not silent if everyone knows about it. Your committed stoic is not looking for sympathy, just accepting discomfort as part of life. 

Yep @afraser.  He has a headache but refuses to take anything for it.  Hours spent suffering in silence (except the rest of us all know about it) and then may or may not take painkillers.  (And he must have a secret medical degree as he "knows" more than any doctor)

I have the opposite problem - stoical refusal to get help when it’s necessary. Suffering in silence is entirely the province of the male of the species in my house! 

Considering the amount of bodily function stuff women put up with as a matter of course, no wonder we cope better. We just get on with the job. There is also the research on pain tolerance levels for redheads too...we have two redheaded daughters and can vouch that their pain tolerance is pretty high and strangely enough little or no side effects when using pain killers eg endone... when our younger daughter had her ovarian cyst removed she was on it for a short while, no side effects at all...i take one and it hits me like a truck!

Though on the funnier side i do remember a recent tv ad on the flu and the bloke saying that it took him 6 weeks to get over it...more like man flu i thought...men tend to groan louder which makes more people take notice...maybe we should do the same.

Hmm. Just been thinking. Which is dangerous at the best of times! With this new age of you can be whatever gender you align with, maybe ladies suffering with hot flushes due to your drugs should say you are male. They might try a bit harder to find relief for you! Sorry, couldn’t resist.

I've been trying to impose a peroxide plan for my partner's toenail fungus. It really seems to help and has the added benefit of bleaching the nail so it doesn't look so yellow and digusting. It doesn't cure it completely ( mind you, chemo does, but that's a bit extreme) however it certainly helps. If you do it. Which is currently the problem.

Many Thanks for that, @Blossom1961 ...  He tried the vinegar for a while, but sadly didn't follow thru with it for long enough!!   :(   I may get him to try again, tho!!   ;)
