- NannatashMemberSeen breast specialist this morning she thinks lump is fatty lymph node getting ultrasound with in 2 weeks
- NeMemberHi there, I agree with everyone about the probability of it being scar tissue but here is what happened to me!. I also found a lump near the center of my breast right underneath my scar and completely freaked out thinking the worst. I made an appointment and when my surgeon had a feel she smiled and say you will not believe what I am about to tell you but please stop worrying. Turned out with some silicone implants (like mine) they have this small bump in the implant where the manufacturers have sealed the implant off. There are actually two tiny manufacturer bumps on each implant. She made me feel the other breast and whallah! same thing on that side. She then did an ultrasound anyway to just give me peace of mind.:)
It gave me the biggest fright ever! but the only relief we ever get is when we have these things checked. Just don't assume the worst cause it can definitely be scar tissue or even a small silicone bump from your implant. I have scar tissue as well which also freaked me out when I became aware of it. I am sure yours will be too. - NannatashMemberI dont have implants but thankyou x
- primekMemberThanks for that info @Ne
- Roxie66Member@Ne, that information is very comforting for me to read as I am currently freaking myself out because I found a small hard bump on my breast where my implant is (towards the middle of the bottom of the breast). It is definitely attached to the implant or pec as I can move the skin on top of it and it doesn't move but it does move when I flex my pecs. It's small and hard and feels like a foreign object. I thought maybe a stitch or scar tissue but it could be what you are talking about too...
- Roxie66MemberForgot to say that this lump is on the breast that didn't have the cancer in it, which is making me worry a bit less.. (or it should be, I seem to be worrying myself into a frenzy anyway.)
- NannatashMemberHi roxie66 yer I had ultrasound this arvo n the man said fatty scar tissue in the scaring and mine mived putting arm over head to have ultrasound but a ultrasound is a good peace of mind it seems quiet common after surgery for all us going through this but we don't get told iit at time of surgery of wat possibilities are like scare tissue fatty lymph nodes in scar all the best xx
- NannatashMemberRoxie66 its best to go get checked and ultrasound for piece of mind all the best xxx
- melclarityMember@Nannatash thats great news you got that sorted out! I had a massive lump after a lumpectomy in 2011 thats where my recurrence happened in 2015, so absolutely always check it out. Im 11 weeks post mastectomy left breast and diep flap recon and have a large piece of fat necrosis on the cleavage side uuugh! theyre not anxious to do anything about it, so they'll remove it once I have my revision within 6 months. Glad you know! Hugs Melinda xo
