Well that was an appointment from hell. Saw the oncologist this morning and was told that I will never heal and nothing will be normal again in life ..... well I just may as well not be here like this cause I can't do anything or go anywhere with open wounds. And seeing a physc is absolutely useless. I have also stopped the tomoxifen as of today due to side affects. Not sure what I am going to do now but finances are now non existent so putting food into my body is hard as I don't have any and bills are just mounting up and rent is getting harder to pay let alone internet. Not sure if you will here from me from now on. So I wish everyone here the best of luck. xx
Thanks for the information and I will be checking it out @primek. I have to be careful as I am allergic to bees but have been able to get a hold of the manuka oil (which is 100% oil and from the tree) and have put this on a small opening twice and this has healed, I will be continuing with this on the rest of the small holes and by the time the big ones are ready hopefully they will be small. I am very grateful to this site as I can vent my frustrations and know someone out there is listening and has been through somewhat of the same journey. Love to you all. xx
Not sure of this one medically @shann but maybe a story worth relaying. Some years ago I attended a party and met a much older retired farmer from the Mallee here in SA. He had had a serious tractor accident which had left him with an open wound on his leg which would not heal and he was told by his medical staff they could do nothing further. He spoke at length about how aloe Vera had healed him.He was not a salesman just a typical old bush farmer I think we call cocky farmers. What struck me was the conviction with which he spoke and he seemed a most unlikely zealot for alternative medicine.I have never tried it for wound healing but we use it extensively in summer for sunburn with great success. May be worth chatting to medical staff in the circumstances- @primek maybe you might have some thoughts about this.
Thank you @primek I am unfortunately allergic to hyperfix and many more but I will mention this when I go today. No one is understanding as one closes and the another opens (can be up to the size of a 10 cent piece. Don't know who to go to now the public hospital seems unable to do anything (either of them) and I cannot afford to private in anyway. Thank you for your information I do appreciate all the wisdom on here. xxx
Oh bugger...and don't have a bleach bath. God...ask her where the wound healing evidence is for that. ..is she 100 years old or something. I'm so sorry for your issues. I had one area of delayed healing due to a stictch poking through. I used a cut down vomferl dressing and tbe edges sealed down with hyperfix. Left intact for to 5 days. Always smelly when removed...lightly clean (no poking or disturbing new growth) and replace. As soon as healed from underneath and level swap over to a dry dressing so it doesn't over granulate. Perhaps ask at the wound clinic.
Woke up this morning with another hole on the right vertical wound, I was just thinking 2 days ago how good it was looking apart from where she has opened it up now this. Everytime I think yeah another step forward then bang backwards I go, Very frustrating back to the wound clinic I go tomorrow and then a month of just looking after it myself due to oncology appointment, the games and easter. I won't be going anywhere for that time.
Now back seeing wound clinic and was there on Monday and the new lady had to dig around in a particular spot on the horizontal scar. Well that was a lot of pain and she couldn't understand why and said you should still be numb (me crying but she didn't stop) he reasoning to see if it was tracking (not of course). Bleed like a stuck pig and hasn't stopped really since and she has opened up the scar yet again. I get so much anxiety about that place. Well I have decided I am not going back for a month due to the games and easter and just do what I want to do. By the way she said to have a bleach bath (not now since she opened it up water stings it so bad) I would like to tell her where she can stick her bleach bath. Still no infections touch wood. This will take longer now to heal and it was looking quite good. One day maybe I will have a win. Hope you are all having a great thanks for listening again. xx
