Newly Diagnosed - Letrozole

Hi everyone, I’m new here.
im started letrozole 1 month ago and I have middle joint pain specially in the mornings. I found that exercises help me a lot and I hope long term does not affects my bones. I hope will improve with the days until my body accept this medicine. Blessings for every one.

    Welcome to the blog, @krisol - sorry to see you join our exclusive little group - I hope we can help you out with any queries you may have.

    Feel free to update us on your story so far .... what your diagnosis was, your surgery & treatments so far .... Are you in a city in NSW, or are you rural or regional?   We have private groups for some types of BC, Rural & Regional, Going Flat or choosing reconstruction & others.  There can be specific information that may relate to what you've already had done - or you may be able to contribute to help others still facing it ...  You can check them out here:

    Definitely keep moving/exercising to reduce the side effects of Letrozole - let's hope that it improves xx

    Hi, this is my 2nd time on this forum, so I hope I’m in the right area to ask my question. I have just finished my radiation yesterday, after having 15 rounds. I have been prescribed Letrozole by my Oncologist, and I was told to wait 2 weeks after my radiation finished before I start taking it. But I don’t understand why I need to wait this long? I know I should have asked my doctor at the time but it just didn’t occur to me, and since then I have heard other people say they started taking Letrozole straight after their rads, so has anyone else had to wait this long, and is this a common practice? Thanks for any advice you can give me!

    Hi @Dee8855, I started mine around 4 weeks after radiation.

    Hi Katie46, thanks for your reply, do you know why you had to start after 4 weeks? I’m wondering if it’s because the radiation is still working?

    I started mine 2 weeks after the radiation. I did not ask why.

    Hi @Dee8855, I think there must be a bit of a window for starting the hormone blockers, my timetable was always after radiation, and I think the idea was to have a few weeks to recover before moving onto the next phase.

    I also had a Goserelin injection 3 weeks after radiation as I  was not in menopause, and started letrozole a week after that.

    yes, I also found out it’s because the radiation is still working so it’s just to give me a chance to recover a bit
