First cycle of Paclitaxel dose dense
@Locksley So starting my premedication last night with 5 Dexamethasone & 1 Famotidine and then the same dose this morning plus 1 Loratadine 60min before treatment starts, totally dosed up ready, I had an appointment with my oncologist first to talk about possible side effects and how I'm going so far. Then had my Paclitaxel without any allergic reactions at all such a relief it did take a lot longer than getting AC 3.5 hours compared to 2 hours but that's ok as its one of my few outings. So I'm hoping it's a sign of how my next 3 cycles will go.

So after not having my treatment yesterday I had to have another whole dose of premeds which have made my face red they say it's all the steroids lol,

Hugs xoHi @fern88, Well not going very well at the moment, went to have chemo today, and the oncologist said I was not well enough to have chemo, so postponed for another week. So I am still saying 6 weeks to go 😢 Hugs Cheryl xx - Hi Fern I did get the next day injection but that was with my first four doses of more intense chemo. I had every three weeks. My Paclitaxel will go for 12 weeks and my Oncologist assures me the leg pain will lessen I have a script for endone if I need it.

Hugs xo - I got shooting pains in my head, temple and the side of my jaw, plus bone and muscle pain, the oncologist gave me Endup I think it is called and I take a tablet morning and night, and it stops the pain works well. Just had a two week break as I have had a sinus infection and was on high antibiotics, with only 6 treatments to go I am saying Lets do it !!!!! get it done.hugs Cheryl
- Thank you so much for your feedback. I’ve not been given anything to take after my treatment. My next treatment is on Tuesday so will speak to my oncologist.
- Please do talk to your oncologist - paclitaxel or Taxol has peripheral neuropathy as a known side effect, starts with tingling in the toes and fingers. Ask what can be done to reduce this, for example ice treatment, if it still effective with a third dose. PN may be mild and mainly irritating, clearing up after chemo is finished, but it can be more severe and longer lasting so keep an eye on it. Best wishes.
- Hi @Ween hope your not feeling to sore, do you have pegfilgrastim 24 hrs after your chemo? Few days after chemo my hip, lower back, leg pain got worse before it got better and my fingers & toes had numb & tingly feelings, not feeling to bad after the 1st week. So I wasn't keen to see if it was going to happen again on my 2nd dose of paclitaxel (7th July) well it did and the hip, lower back etc pain was even worse & for longer this time (I wonder if it has any thing to do with the pegfilgrastim I have 24hrs after chemo) didn't notice anything like this on AC though. Fingers & toes funny feelings again. I see my oncologist before my next dose this Tues 21st so will be asking some questions.
