Skin fold
Hi I am 8 days post radiation treatment and have been feeling great and living life. I now have a split skin fold which is oozing a yellow goo (sorry only way I can think to describe it). My question is it ok to put anything in this? My rad nurse was supposed to call days ago and didn't and I tried calling today my was told the nurses were unavailable and to leave a message (that I did) and my gp isn't available until next week.42Views0likes6CommentsFirst cycle of Paclitaxel dose dense
@Locksley So starting my premedication last night with 5 Dexamethasone & 1 Famotidine and then the same dose this morning plus 1 Loratadine 60min before treatment starts, totally dosed up ready, I had an appointment with my oncologist first to talk about possible side effects and how I'm going so far. Then had my Paclitaxel without any allergic reactions at all such a relief it did take a lot longer than getting AC 3.5 hours compared to 2 hours but that's ok as its one of my few outings. So I'm hoping it's a sign of how my next 3 cycles will go. Hope everyone's going good in their treatments. xo231Views3likes20CommentsShingles
Hello. I’ve had a rash for a few days now, which I initially thought was a mosquito bite. Realised recently it’s a rash, and after googling I’m pretty sure it’s shingles. Will see GP tomorrow about it, but has anyone else experienced this? Apparently people with weakened immunity are prone to it (who have also had chicken pox) and cancer treatment can trigger it. I’m in the middle of my rads treatment. I asked a therapist a day ago about it and she said it’s got nothing to do with radiation, but may not completely be the case. Will appreciate hearing from anyone who’s had this. M Xx191Views0likes13Commentsstrataxrt cream for radiotherapy - has anyone used this before?
Hello, I have just been informed that they cannot use mepitel film on me for my radiation treatment due to covid-19, and instead recommended a cream called StrataXRT? Has anyone used this before? Grateful for your feedback. Thank you83Views0likes4CommentsAm I the only one doing this ?

Apparently some centre let you chose music for your radiation therapy. Although there is music playing, I’ve not been offered this but even so, I wouldn’t want to risk creating a mental link between something horrible to my all time favourite music. So if they asked me I’d just say play Billy Joel. 😆 But this got me thinking about a radiation therapy play list (tongue in cheek): Here Comes the Sun Shake Rattle and Roll Every Step You Take Burn For You Hot in the City Burning Love Stayin Alive So what have I missed? !🤣161Views0likes10CommentsWhat to take to Chemo?
Hi there I've got my first session next Thursday Doxurubiin, Cyclophosphamide and Pegfilgrastim. I've been told it will be every 14 days for four cycles. Then radio. Apart from eg a book, what else is good / needed / might be good to take to chemo sessions? In a dilemma with work, how did you go with this chemo? Thanks :)131Views0likes15Commentsoptions other than medications
Hi My name is Margarita, I will be 54 this year. Its been twelve months since my cancer operations (had lump removed only), and I had 6 weeks of radiation. my cancer was only grade 1 and had not gone to Lymph modes, even thought had 5 removed to check how far it had spread, because it was invasive. I am still having the monthly injections of Goserelin as I was still having my periods and not started menopause. in August my oncologist put me on exemestane a my cancer was hormonal base, by November my liver levels got really high that I was referred to Liver specialist an she believed it was the medication. I had been off the medication for 10 weeks and my levels dropped and my oncologist put me on Gemox, I was on these for two weeks and had an allergic reaction, that made my body itchy and irritated my eye and my head was sure not thinking straight. my oncologist had taken me off these, will see her next week on 18th my question is what is next, since non of the medication is liking my body. my husband is not happy that I have to take any medication since my grade was only 1 and had not found anything else, he wasn't happy that I decided to go ahead with the six weeks of radiation... some advise or suggestions I would appreciate.231Views0likes8Comments
