Just back from 5 weeks travels in US/Canada, and delighted to see how Steph's "Get Active and Keep Well" has taken off.

Loved your feature, Deanne - you have always been spot-on with advice for a healthy lifestyle - so has Robyn - and it's great to hear you are all doing so well!

I found Jamba Juice bars in New York and kept up the kale and green juices - also a place called Pret a Manger with giant refrigerators full of healthy salads and wraps to take away- a huge range - great for lunches.

Being Breast Cancer Month there were pink sisters everywhere, even Newfoundland!  In NY, I tentatively approached a woman in a turban and asked if she was having chemo - she told me she had just finished a week ago.  I told her that I had had 2 surgeries, 12 weeks chemo and 1 month radiation, and "Here I am 2 years later".  She hugged me and said "I really needed to meet you today!!" (And I almost hadn't approached her - so glad that I did).

The new "Healthy Eating and BC" booklet is now downloaded, and my normal diet and exercise routine started first day home.  2 kgs to lose!

Still catching up on all the posts but wanted to say hi to everyone.  Congratulations, Steph - the new group is amazing!  Hugs to you all,

Michelle xxx

Such kind words! I mentioned to Jess when this came through, you had made my Friday :-) We are really pleased to have been involved in getting this group up and running, we hope it continues to grow and delivers women the support they need to focus on their health and wellbeing.

Your trip sounds fantastic, thanks for sharing your photos and the food over there sounds DELICIOUS. Have you been to New York before? What a city!

It is incredible how the universe can deliver you some gentle reassurance out of the blue. It sounds as though you made that womans day when you approached her and shared your experience.

Have a wonderful Friday Michelle, and thanks again for the feedback. Seems to me as though you might have a knack for making peoples day X

Glad that you enjoyed your trip and have returned refreshed and ready to keep enjoying staying active and healthy.

I think Steph is doing a great job too and I am enjoying the info she finds for us each week. We can never know too much about how to help ourselves!

Steph is right when she says that you have a knack for making people's days! Welcome back. Deanne xxx

Will definitely stay in touch.  Hope you are still enjoying your Nutri bullet - aren't they amazing? (and not 12 different parts to clean like a juicer - well, seems like 12!) So easy to have a daily green juice.  What a lovely daughter you have.

How is your Denosumab working?  Hope that your bone turnover improved, too - I am due for my 4th injection in December.  Have you had 2 now?

Just back from a 1/2 hour walk on the beach, and another 1/2 hour on the treadmill, so time to relax.

Cheers to you, too,  Michelle xxx

(Love your hair - it really suits you.)

Thank you for your lovely comments.   I can't tell you how many times BCNA has made my day in the past..

Will be looking foward to your e-letters and posts - the support is really appreciated.

    Michelle xx

(PS:  No - it was my first trip to the east coast - loved it!)

It is always good to hear from you, and your posts often echo what I am thinking!

We have been invited to a friend's for Christmas and I am already thinking what I can take to stay on track - at least partially, anyway - all ideas welcome.  We put so much effort into staying healthy and active, and this is the season for sabotage, so it's better to be prepared in advance.

You look amazing in your feature photo - the picture of good health.  6 kgs lost is wonderful.  You are a real support for a lot of people, and inspiring me to lose 2 kgs asap!

    Stay in touch.  xxx  Michelle

    Hey girls

So luvly to be a part of this post.

I can honestly say that every time I have tried to exercise my body has let me down BUT i keep on going and finding new things I can do.  I am continuing my yoga, walking, stationary bike and my latest is pilates.

My precious daughter gave me a huge kick up the backside the other week and has now got me onto a very healthy way of eating.  She has sent me through websites, got me to join facebook pages, lent me books and is there to encourage me every single day if I should need it.  My biggest obstacle is my husband but I am going to sort out the pantry with his crappy processed foods in one section and my healthy foods in another.

I am open to any wonderful suggestions you girls who are obviously well and truly on the right track can offer to help me along my way.

By the way Steph you have done a great job huny.

So luvly to hear from you girls who have been on this site for ages.  Unfortunately I have not been well enough or had the time with moving house to Perth and bloody appointments.  I am going to do my very best to stay on track.

Luv today, tomorrow and always, Mich xoxoxoxox

Thanks for the welcome back.  I was reading about your liver problems with Tamoxifen - when you stop taking it, does the liver then recover?   You are wise to do the 5:2 diet before you leave in July - I have just been reading about it as I need to lose 2 kgs quickly.  My Oncologist recommends it as sensible and safe.  So sorry to hear about your ankle - do you have access to water exercises?  They are even doing Zumba-in-the-pool now up here which would be fun in the summer. Best wishes always.  Michelle xx

Hey Tonya so luvly to see your beautiful face again. It has been a while.  It is so annoying when all these obstacles get in our way to being able to have a full recovery.

i am doing yoga but also doing pilates sort of one of one in a group and I find that is amazing.  It strengthens your body and they work gently on area that we have problems with in my case numerous but I thoroughly enjoy it and can really feel the benefit but I have a long way to go. Unfortunately the exercise will come to a stop till I recover from the gallbladder surgery on Monday but I am determined it is not going to hold me back for long as I have a holiday to get to and enjoy.

I am glad to see we are all managing to get out in the world and enjoy ourselves when we can.

Luv and best wishes to you Tonya, stay well huny , Mich xoxoxo

Hi Mich, thanks for sharing your journey with us so far. It sounds as though you are doing really well to keep focused and look after yourself. We would love to know what books, facebook pages and websites you have been keeping an eye on. We are always on the hunt for new resources and ideas - my sister recommended I take a look at The Whole Pantry. There is an app which I downloaded lastnight - it has a good range of clean living recipes, natural solutions to cleaning products along with lifestyle guides and inspiration. If apps aren't your thing, Belle (the founder) has just published a book which I have on my Christmas list :-) Have a wonderful start to the week, and thanks again for sharing X

    That's great news, Mich!

Hope you are back at yoga and pilates soon and are feeling 100% better!  Enjoy the next 3 months to the fullest and put February on the backburner.  So glad everything went so well for you.  Big hug,

So glad it all went well and that you are biting at the bit to get your health back.I'm sure it won't take you very long. My husband was eating whatever straight after surgery and doing whatever after 2 weeks - and that's only cos his surgeon said to take it easy.I'm glad you don't have to think about medical stuff till February - it gets abit much doesn't it. Love n hugs, Tonya xx
