Travel Insurance

I've got a corporate policy through work with Zurich. I'm not sure if they offer standard travel insurance but I'll check some of the companies out on Monday and let you know who offers what. I know AIG are pretty good and you can do theirs online www.aigdirect.com.au. I'm not sure about the medical screening with theirs but I can certainly look into it and let you know next week. I've been thinking about insurance for us affected by bc for sometime, not just travel but home, car, business etc and how, if we were a member of bcna whether we could do something in conjunction with some of the insurers to get discounted policies etc, I know the financial strain is bad enough and trying to continue to keep on top of bills can be a strain. Maybe I need to talk to Bcna about it. anyway I'll do some research on the travel policies out there and keep you posted.0

Hi Tina,
Totally agree with all of what you say. One has to asses their own individual risk and take insurance that satisfies that risk. My issues, which I have now come to accept, were the ignorance on BC, cost and the senior insurance companies that just don't cater, when you think they would.
Cheers

Hi everyone,
I looked up the covermore website after reading the above.
I put in that:-
I had breast cancer 3-5 years ago/see specialist 1-2 times a year and ticked the box that said only spread to lymph nodes under arm. The next question said what type of treatment do you now take and there was an option to say tablet.(tamoxifen for me) but when I did i got to a screen with a phone number on it.
I tried going further by saying none-instead of tablet and that seemed ok.
It gave me an additonal price of $76 to cover for BC which I thought was good. The whole policy for 2 of us to Turkey is $226(not inculding the BC extra bit). So I thought this company may be the go, but I guess I will need to ring them regarding the taking of the tamoxifen.

Hi all,
Time was running out so we have gone for Covermore. They covered the BC but not the augmentation.
BC was removed Apr 2013 and expander replaced with a silicone implant in June this yr. I took out policy for my wife only costing $329. Considering we are off to the states, a high cost medical service, this seemed pretty good. For an extra 148 I can get a full yr cover. So if you intend to do more travel OS might be worth it.

Hi Maya,
We ended up with Covermore they covered us the best. Take care and read their policy carefully as they did have a limit on the period since treatment end which I can't remember
