Hi all
I am getting a flight in from Brisbane and will be arriving around 2pm on Wednesday 24th. Not sure yet which way I will go but if others are there, will go with the flow. Staying at Metro Hotel too.
I did live in Sydney for 4 years so hopefully will feel confident making my way around. I did hear that the monorail was closing down - is this true? It looks like we are getting light rail passes inclusive to our room too.
Will have to see what pink stuff I can wear on the day - great idea!

I was also thinking about taking the train, but with my hubby travelling with me and the time we are arriving in Sydney it appears to be cheaper to go by cab. Suggest to you go to NSW transport website. They have a calculator to help you work out the cost.

Howdy girls.
Doing a little happy dance today. I was looking at the latest Rockmans catalogue and they have some beautiful dresses that work even for us uni-boobers out there with our big ugly bra's. I went to the first store but they were out of the Tropicana Print Maxi Dress that I just had to have and sent me on to the second store with a promise it was there in my size. I got it. It looks friggin awesome. AND I got the free clutch deal AND I got 30% off today (on all their dresses).
To say I am a little stoked is an understatement. So happy. So, that is what I am wearing to the evening dinner thingy. Just got to decide on the rest of my wardrobe now. lol.

Hey girls
If we catch the train in Sydney, does anyone know which stop we would have to get off at to get to Metro Hotel??
Thanks
Mich xoxo

Hi Mich
You can either get off at Central Station or you can get off at Town Hall. I would wear some sneakers. I think Town Hall might be a bit closer and you don't have to walk through the dodgy park then. Go to the Metro hotel's website and you will see a map section somewhere on there (can't remember where i saw it on the page) and you will be able to see how close it is. When do you arrive? Are you coming from the airport? Its only a few streets over from the station.

Thanks Cath
For the info, I will go online and have a look. It looks like you are a bit more organised than me already. :-)
I have just returned from Perth after a week of follow up tests which so far went well, I just waiting for the team meeting in a month who will compare mammogram films from diagnosis date till now so fingers crossed.
I flying in from Perth and arrive Sydney time of 6.25pm EST.
What about you?

Hi Mich
I am going well. Just been dealing with some Lymphodema but it looks like we are getting there - I have lost 1.5cm from the largest part in just one week! Yay.
There is nothing worse then the waiting for test results. That horrible sick feeling in your stomach wondering wondering. I would love to say that gets easier - but I am still a work in progress. I am a three year survivor so far. I really really look forward to meeting you at the conference. Sounds like you live rurally?
To everyone - I am starting to get very excited about meeting up with others. I tend to be a very shy person (so that's where my daughter gets it from???) but I really do hope I can come out of my shell at this conference and make some lifelong friends who understand my journey. People I don't have to "explain" things to, that just get it. My hair is longer now then in the pic - about shoulder length. Please feel free to come and chat with me during the conference.
Question: I am getting a hair cut on Monday and trying to decide whether to get a colour. Was wondering about a shot of Pink in one section. Should I do it? lol.

Hey Cath
I am rural WA near the ocean, what about you.
Please make sure you say hello to me if I see you before you see me.
I hope we can wear our blog names so we will know who each person is.
I am getting excited but also very nervous now. I am struggling with trying to get myself organised because of chemo brain and fatigue but I am sure I will get there.......
C U SOON, LOL, Mich xoxox

Hey Mich
I lived rurally during my diagnosis treatment and have only just moved in Mackay in May this year (its east of Townsville - 4/5 hours drive and about 13 hours drive from Brisbane). I lived two hours west of here in a mining town. So, I still live in a small regioinal area, but its like living in a capital city compared to what it was like.
I think I am going to make sure I take a marker and write my "screen name" on it anyways. I doubt they will have a problem with that! I might even look around my computer and see if I can find an updated version of myself in a photo and if there is a way to add it on here, I will. Actually, looking above it seems we can insert an image. If others feel like they are up to it - take a pic too and we will have an idea of who we all are.
I haven't packed my bag yet, but I am thinking of starting that tomorrow. I have most of my clothes sorted (i think) - i am staying a couple of extra days and seeing family/friends in Newcastle till Sunday. I really don't know if I could have done a trip like this during treatment phase - so I congratulate you in advance.
I found Vit B Complex tablets (i think that is what they were called) helped me with my fatigue a bit. And lots and lots of water to keep flushing the chemo through the system quicker.
Getting so excited - 5 days kid free in a city that I love so much. I am getting in at 2 to Sydney and hoping I can get my bags dropped off to the hotel quickly so I can hop on over to Paddy's market before it closes at 5. Haven't been there in years!
See you all VERY soon
Cath xx

Hey Cath
Living rural has its good points and bad points. When you need medical attention unfortunately it isn't good.
I have myself on so many medications to try and build up my energy and immune system. I am definitely feeling better but I also still get tired.
You are lucky you getting in to Sydney early so you can catch Paddys Market as I would like to have seen that. Oh well.
This is a photo of me when I had my number 3 before chemo and is pretty much what stage my hair is at in growing back at the moment so this will do. I am probably also even fatter at present :-)

Hi Mich
Your message reminded me to get a photo up on here. You look great! And hey, I really do think that the drugs we are on for fighting cancer doesn't do anything to help our weight!!!!! That's the excuse I'm using! haha.
Here is a lovely (hehe) pic of me taken just now. Had to use the webcam so excuse the crappy photo, but you get the idea.
