    Hi Leonie

Fantastic Garden!  Wish i could grow my vegies like that!  Unfortunately I'm not much of a green thumb!  But I try!  LOL!

Great to hear you're eating your greens - I'm eating heaps of them too as I believe they're meant to be really good for you!

    cheers

I have a really good garden centre up the road from me.  I get a scoop of manure mixed with a scoop of soil.  I have been getting manure and soil for a long time but this is EXCELLENT.  I told them how good it was and they said thanks for the feedback.  They keep trying to get the mix "just right".  I think they have it already.  Every thing that I have used the mix for (strawberry pots, fruit tree boxes etc) are just thriving.  I must say I check long and hard for the position of my veggie garden.  It gets so hot here tht I wanted a shaded area but with morning sun.  I found a good spot and have even chosen another spot just as good to start another veggie patch (I will have to make it and fill it whilst my hubby is at work)  He keeps telling me "No more gardens" but I love it.  I have been in the garden all day today.  I finally got to my pool garden.  It now looks terrific (hadn't been touched for 2.5 years whilst the tenants were living here.  I will post a pic of my side garden with all the pretty flowers when I have the area all set up for my BCNA fundraising Girls Afternoon Tea net Sunday.  I am having 40 plus women here watching displays, fashions parades, participating in multi-draws , drinking and eating heaps of homemade food.  I also have some laughs up my sleeve for them too.  I think the arvo will go longer than 2 hours!!!!  Very busy week - cooking, finishing my garden tidy up and two speaking engagements.  Had to turn down another mini field of women display (too exhausted) XLeonie

How fantastic for you Leonie that you've organised this afternoon tea.

I hope to do the same next year, but I'm a little early after finishing treatment to take on too much.

As it is I'm speaking at the official BCNA/Baker's Delight Mini Fields this week and holding a morning tea at my work so that's enough for this year.

I'm still getting pretty tired, but I have managed to meet a couple of the ladies I've been chatting to over the network for coffee on my day off work (I work Mon - Thurs) which was great.

I'm also holding a huge fundraiser for the Hospital cancer ward that treated me so I've been really, really busy trying to get donations for prizes.  Its really hard out there - no one wants to donate much these days but I keep trying.

I've also just finished my cookbook which is also a major part of the fundraiser - it's over 300 pages.  I'm quite proud of it.

Anyway enough waffling on from me....take care

    Good luck with everything

    luv H

Ah, Leonie!  I'm jealous!  Those tomoatoes look great!

It's a bit too cold, still, to be planting them down here, so I'm still staring forlornly at a barren patch of dirt.  Can't wait to get my them in!

Thanks Leonie you're right....I do tend to do that - take on too much....I suppose I'm just so happy to have got through all this horrible treatment I just want to jump up and down and scream from the rooftops that I beat it!

I want to help as much as I can, not only for BCNA but also for the hospital that treated me.

You'll get used to me doing this!!  It's no wonder I can't wind down at nights!

(Guess who used to be roaming the wards late at night 'cause her mind wouldn't shut down!!!)

But you are right - there are plenty more years ahead to do stuff....as it is I can't go to the Conference this year (no money) or the big lunch at the National Gallery in Vic (again, no money) so I'm looking forward to that next year.

In the meantime, I'll try to pace myself.

    Thanks for your concern.

    cheers

    luv H

My specialist surgeon told me to do that and every time I feel overtaxed I hear his voice. XLeonie

Hello fellow card maker, looking forward to seeing your creations. I'm a Stampin Up demonstrator and I just love card making and I'm using my contacts to make and donate cards for sale to support Breast Cancer. We have a lot of fun gathering together for an afternoon of card making and swapping ideas. I usually have pre-cut card kits ready for them to put together. I'm not a photographer but I will try and take some reasonable photo's and upload them.

    Luv Joy
