Frustrating times

I visited my surgeon today for the pathology results from my surgery. Unfortunately the lab has been inundated and my results aren’t through. I had myself all prepared for the news and feel a bit bewildered now.

He did did tell me that he suspects I had a second mass under the first detected one and had removed a lot of tissue down to my chest wall.

Just when you think you might be able to make a plan, bam - it changes.

On the upside, I will now get to go on my week break to Jarvis Bay because the mastectomy won’t happen till after the new year. Having thought that however, I’m still mentally preparing for a short notice call back to surgery if the margins weren’t clear.

BUGGER!  BUGGER!  BUGGER!  Surely they could have told you and postponed your appointment, tho that would have been a tad worrying as well?!   All that ‘gearing up for it’ ....

I hope you can enjoy your trip to Jervis Bay ... and I hope your margins are clear so you don’t get an early call!

All the best ..... fingers and toes crossed for you xx

Thanks @SoldierCrab, I have her number but oddly enough I don’t really know what her role is or how she is able to help. Are you able to explain it for me?

Hope you get your answers soon @Tracey2800.  That's just really unfair - nobody's fault maybe, but still unfair.

It is frustrating @Sister. My surgeon was equally as disappointed. He wasn’t meant to be in his rooms that day but had made the appointment to see me expecting that the lab would have had more than enough time. He’s on call now and won’t be in his rooms for a week, however he is checking daily and he’ll call me when they’re in and arrange a time for me to see him. So all in all I think he’s doing a great job, it’s just an exceptionally busy time with lots of new cancer cases.
