Hello lovelies...I’m trying to remember the name of the needle I had injected into my boobie on the day of surgery..it stung like hell and I remember I had to massage the area as it helped ease the sting...anyone remember what that’s called? TIA xx

Was it the one for the sentinel node biopsy? With radioactive blue dye?

That was the single most painful thing so far in the whole breast cancer saga. I let out a quiet, agonised "Shit" and the nuclear science nurse said to my husband "She's very brave"...

The commonly useddyes are the isomers isosulphan blueand Patent blue V (PBV).

Yep four of the most painful injections I’ve ever had. I think I used shit too as my curse word probably lucky it wasn’t something else

i’d agree it was the most confront8ng thing I’ve done so far

My technician was very sweet and thoughtful, and it didn't hurt too much. However, she had to have a second attempt as she went to far with the first needle, and shot the stuff out a hole she had accidentally made on the other side.
After the second attempt was successful and as she was thoughtfully placing the screen so I could see, she was very apologetic as she exclaimed that it was very frustrating as she had forgotten her glasses!!
