Guys,
Have been unable to drive and found out about this service which is manned by volunteers. If you need to use the service its a small fee but conditions do apply. They are also looking for volunteer drivers a couple of days a week. Gets you out of the house and you meet some fabulous folk in your community.
Cheers

Some hospitals have notices up in relation to the local assisted transport services, often provided by Uniting Care. I saw one in the hospital's orthopaedic waiting area.0

You are right, summerhill38, this service is often managed by a local community organisation. My neighbour uses one. It costs her $7 per trip. The driver is not allowed to assist (i.e. no personal contact) and is not allowed to venture from the destination (i.e. they cannot stop at a shop on the route) but it is still a great service. If anyone needs transport it is worth asking ! There are so many ''quiet'' services out there and just being in need is the criteria.1
