Straight on from chemo or do you get a week or two off?

I get 3 weeks off! Yay for me! And then it's 3 weeks of rads.  So in about 8 weeks I'll be done with this lot of treatment and me looking at what type of hormone therapy they're going to recommend.

For the first time ever, I bombed out in my exercise class - low BP going in and could only manage about half of it going really slowly. I'm not sure if it's a physical reaction to yesterday but or just part and parcel.

@sister it could well be because yesterday was so mentally draining that you felt physically drained too.  I have had a few weeks between chemo and starting tamoxifen (start on Monday) and feeling almost like myself again is the biggest treat - funny how we take "feeling normal" so much for granted until something like this gives you a swift kick to the nether regions.

@Sister - just catching up on your traumatic day! But on the bright side you've got a start and finish date for rads!  Oh wow - I can't wait for that!  And you've given me a glimmer of hope with your three weeks - I thought five weeks was the only option now I live in hope that maybe, just maybe (as a lobular buddy) I'll get three weeks too! My onc told me to go see the radiation oncologist about half way through taxol - that means in about 7 weeks time. You've only got two taxols to go - woo hoo!!  Actually I was curious to ask you - did you hair start growing back on taxol?

@Eastmum I think it is starting to grow back - but a bit like male-pattern baldness!  I can't see the very top of my head but my daughter says it looks like something starting.  I never lost everything due to the initial cold caps so a bit hard to tell - and what is there is mostly white so hoping that will change!

Interestingly, there seems to be 2 ways to go with rads - 3 or 5.  Not sure why.  Another question for the onc but it will have to wait until next week because I'm seeing the Registrar this week and while she's nice and seems competent, I don't have the same confidence in her experience with big questions.

@sister. Hope you’re feeling better today after the massive ballsup of yesterday.  So sorry you lost your shit Over it too.  It sounds like a bloody hell of a maze that Royal adelaide. Must of been designed by a male!!  It shouldn’t be that hard to navigate FFS. Especially when you’re already feeling vulnerable. What a bunch of wankers. We have volunteers at our hospitals up here who are usually lovely retirees who have helped me navigate myself through the hospital when I’ve needed them and they walked with me to exactly the right place and I was forever grateful.  Do they have them down there??  Maybe a thought for next time. Big hug love. So hope you had a good rest and are feeling at least a slight bit better this morning.  Margie xxx

Usually there's lot's of the lovely volunteers roaming the hospital - at that particular time I couldn't find one!  And the info desk had a queue of more than 20 people.

@sisiter. Well that’s just fucked!! They should take a good hard look at themselves and that bloody info desk line up. Shows they arent doing their job properly if everyone feels they need to line up to find out where the hell they are supposed to go. And obviously all the volunteers were out with other people trying to do what you were trying to do. I hope you have more luck next time.  You’ll knwo you’re wsy around so well by the time you’re finished they should pay you to escort patients their appointments!  Margie xx

RE the rads, @Sister  -  my regime was 3 weeks plus a 1 week 'booster' where it was targeting a more specific area (not that I noticed anything different!)

All the best on your next visit to the hospital!  Hope it is less eventful than the last one!   :(  I am STILL shaking my head at your experience!  It should NOT have happened!
