Now that really is interesting, dense breast - hyperthyroidism, my initial diagnosis was Graves Disease, then after my surgery and a period of time I went the other way, it was my diagnosis of Chronic fatigue that led my endocrinologist to putting me on tertroxin to see if that would help which it did, I would like to know more about the slow release form of this?
because of the different chemotherapy I have been on I noticed different changes at various times and having had this disease for many years, knew that it was time for a blood test and a visit to my specialist, my tertroxin levels had to be tweaked because my body was not absorbing my medication properly, along with breast cancer just another thing to manage, no one ever told me about dense breasts and I used to have my mammograms regularly every 2 years since I was 40, apparently now if you believe you have dense breasts YOU have to ask the question not the other way round, all women should be told if they have dense breasts, so that if they do they then can make the choice to have other forms of screening ie ultra sound 3d mammogram or mri, we should NOT have to ask it should be automatic on the part of the screening institution,I believe in the USA women who have been diagnosed with dense breasts are given an MRI, I was given the all clear on my mammogram and then only months later was given a diagnosis of stage 4 with mets in my liver and spine with 3 tumours in my left breast work that out!

I also take both T4 and T3 . I'm on 200mcg of thyroxine daily and I take 20mg tertroxin at around 2pm which just gives me a pick me up in the afternoons. I used to be on 500mcg of T4 daily and 40mg tertroxin daily. This is why my levels are checked frequently because my body changes it's mind on whether it's going to absorb the meds or not. All very scary when you end up with a thyroid storm because it's decided that today I will absorb everything thanks very much. If only this body of mine would comply all the time!

my sentiments exactly!!! I am off to the doctor next week for a blood level form as I just feel that something is not quite right, we have so much to deal with on a day to day basis, never mind the breast cancer gig, STILL we are here and live to fight another day, we are the ones that know our bodies best, even when they let us down big time, however we have all learned to adapt and live with what we are given,
On a lighter note GO ADELAIDE CROWS!!! and my darling son is getting married at 2.30pm Saturday, Grand Final Day,still who would have known what would happen with the footy a year ago, I will be putting on my glad rags, having my hair and makeup done and enjoying the beautiful beach wedding they are having, although I know my partner will have an earplug to the radio discreetly hidden somewhere.
