Thankyou ladies. I had a lovely day. I had three of my grand babies with me and I took them out to have dessert for breakfast at San churros chocolatier which they loved and then in the evening I had dinner with my two youngest children and my son’s fiancé. I’m glad you have found somewhere that will bulk bill you @BrendaZ . The out of pocket expenses really do add up. I find that even though I’m on a disability pension I am out of pocket for so many things, mainly specialists. They all charge $90 and upwards. Some in the mid to high $200’s and Medicare only rebates $38. I am so thankful that my sister covers all Drs bills for me as no way I could afford to pay them and eat or pay other bills as well.36Views0likes0CommentsRe: "I don't have time for BC"
Thanks @iserbrown I was just about to link @SoldierCrab so she could perhaps guide @Flips in the right directions. @Flips utilise the bcna call centre too to chat to one of the nurses who will be able to also answer any questions you may have. Welcome @Flips and I’m really sorry you have had to join us. There are many links in the forum as you will see and there is one specifically for young people with breast cancer. Of course we are all welcome to be a part of any forum but it’s great to meet and chat to others of our age as our treatment is often similar. I’m sure others will be along soon to welcome you and to offer you advice and connect you to useful links that will help you. I’m glad you have supportive friends and family. Lean on them as much as you can and come in here and ask as many questions as you would like. No question is stupid or is asked too often. Someone is usually around. We all felt like you in the early days and it’s certainly a whirlwind of emotions and a roller coaster of tests and exams etc. I’m in a different age bracket to you (54) but regardless of age the shock is the same. Do you know what is next on your agenda flowing mastectomy? Do you need to have radiotherapy for instance? @"Kiwi Angel"I will call and book the biopsy on Monday. I think it will have to be the following Monday or Tuesday though as I have my grandkids all week next week. I see my breast surgeon for my 12 month follow up on 15th June so as long as I have results for that I’ll be happy. Thanks for all the support everyone. I had my `why me ‘ moment yesterday and am ready for whatever I need to face today. Hopefully nothing and it’s just a bump in the road to stop me from getting complacent. i went for my 12 month mammogram and ultrasound today and they have found a 2cm lesion on the opposite breast which needs to be biopsied. I am hoping and praying that it is not a new cancer. I’ve had a prior biopsy on that breast which was benign but I can’t even feel this lesion. The one I had last year was a 2.5cm lesion and was easily felt. I surely couldn’t be that unlucky. I had lumpectomy and radiotherapy with the right breast and am on anastrozole now. I’m really not ready for this roller coaster ride to start again.610Views0likes31Comments
