Community highlights
There has been lots of conversation this week in the online network about radiation, mastectomy and reconstruction. Thank you for sharing your experiences and helping support other members with their questions. In case you didn't know, we have a private group in the online network dedicated to this topic: Choosing breast reconstruction.
I'm sure you will all agree it's really nice to see some of our members popping back online to let us know how they are doing.
This is Colette Haymes: mother of two, loving wife, and, as
of this Sunday, BRAVE SKYDIVER! This weekend, Colette is jumping out of a plane
in Barwon Heads to raise money for BCNA to support all Australians affected by
breast cancer. It’s her way of saying thank you for the support she received
from BCNA when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012.
News & events
past twelve months were a fruitful time for breast cancer research. We
hope the discoveries being made will provide hope and inspiration to all
those living with breast cancer. Here are the top breast cancer discoveries on 2016.
Member Survey aims to identify the needs and issues people face when
diagnosed with breast cancer. It will also help identify gaps in
treatment options and support across Australia. The
Member Survey was made possible through funding by Sussan, and BCNA has
eight $100 Sussan gift vouchers to be won. Complete the survey for your chance to win.
Together
with Palliative Care Australia (PCA), BCNA is proud to launch the
online Palliative Care Toolkit for people living with metastatic breast
cancer.

I find it inspiring to read about the diverse range of things that people are doing to improve things for us! From the wonderful creativity of @InkPetal and many others involved in the Creative Corner conversation, to research breakthroughs and fundraising challenges. It helps to know that so much is being done, all the time, in so many ways.
