Welcome to the Friday update!

This week we  have 26
new members. Please welcome @terikash, @nd26, @watertrue,
@pammy46, @davidw, @iamdee @justjan and all our new members.

Community highlights

Each week we have lots of different discussions take place
in the online network. These can include questions, updates, celebrations and
so much more. Here are some conversations this week you may have missed:

#notjust1in8 – have you seen our very own online network member @Chester80$$ story? Diagnosed
with metastatic breast cancer when he was 57 years old. He believes his
diagnosis of metastatic disease was the result of being diagnosed with breast
cancer late, and he puts this down to a lack of awareness that men can get
breast cancer too.

News & events

BCNA were proud to
support the male breast cancer session at the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia conference on the Gold Coast and be part of the conversation about how we can better support men diagnosed
with breast cancer. Check out @Chester80$$ who attended the conference.

This December we are excited to bring our free
information forum to Hahndorf in SA! With sessions for early breast cancer and
people living with metastatic breast cancer, the program features the latest
information and advice from breast cancer and health experts, as well as
inspiration from Olympian and breast cancer survivor Raelene Boyle. If you, or
anyone you know would like to learn more about living well during and beyond a
breast cancer diagnosis register here.

A big shout out to
Fernwood Fitness clubs across Australia. This November they are turning PINK and
setting out to raise an incredible $100k for BCNA! Check out what some of the clubs have been up to! Fernwood
Fitness is also offering special 14 day passes for a donation to BCNA of $20.
Find out more at Fernwood Fitness.

This year Alex will be participating
in the Carman’s Women’s Fun Run
for the third time, but this one will be her
most challenging so far. Alex is running for her mum who passed away from breast
cancer in January. BCNA has been a big part of her family's life for the last
13 years and Alex is hoping to give back by raising money for BCNA.

Health and wellness tip

Try
improving the day on a positive note and improve your mood by jotting down
three things that made you smile today. If you track the small moments of
happiness in your day to day life you can move away form he negative things and
find more reasons to smile.

Here is an inspiring story heading into the weekend about how a NZ woman is not letting breast cancer get in the way of achieving her goals.  What's your motivation?
