Mini-break Glamping before radiation - just what the doctor ordered
This week hubby and I spent 2 nights Glamping at Jervis Bay. I wasn't really looking forward to this trip as I was so tired after chemo with my heart issues and an injured ACL which meant that I have been hobbling round all week. But in the end I am so glad we got away before I start radiation tomorrow. Below is the photo from the website of the luxury camp where we stayed. Had to use their photo as ours didn't turn out, but apart from the candles on the stairs everything you see in the photo is what we got. No electricity to the tents meant that I spent some time away from my laptop which is really strange. Instead I went canoeing - nice gentle exercise there, although hubby did most of the paddling - swimming with the fish in the rock pool at Blenheim Beach and a short walk on Hyams Beach. I really loved lying in my nice cosy bed listening to the rain fall of my tent on the first night, listening to the Kookaburras and all the other birds when I had a long soak in a semi outdoor bathroom. I couldn't hear any cars, planes or anything - just nature and it was so peaceful.A good place to recharge and reflect ahead of what I fear will be another busy and taxing time when I start radiation tomorrow. Have to say I am anxious about that and am especially afraid of being burned and getting scar tissue in my breast which has healed fantastically following my lumpectomy last November.
To all, take care
Nadine

WOW!! Oh I am so jealous. My boyfriend is such a dainty princess he won't even glamp. It sounds divine.
