Forum Frustration

Sorry, but I find this forum very frustrating, I have been a member on a few other forums and they are much easier to navigate. I cannot find posts that I have replied too - I get a message to say that someone else has responded to that post or my reply, but cannot easily get to that post....the message say click here, but nothing works. I can reply, but what is the point of replying to something when I don't know what was said previously.....driving me crazy.

Not sure I can deal with this might have to give this avenue of support a miss.

And OMG...this website is so slow. It takes ages for a page to load.

    Too much frustration for me.

Hi, not sure if you are aware, but it used to be a good easy to use website, but someone decided it needed fixing. You have come to the right place, and there is a good group of us keen to reply to you and support you as much as we can, but the whole thing is one big mess while it is underconstruction. A week of roadworks so far, hopefully soon it  will actually start to be functional. Meanwhile, we are reading you and thinking of you.  :)

So, it's supposed to get better?  I've persevered and actually added a comment to someone's thread today but that was a struggle.  I've tried over the past six weeks and every time I've given up.  When it comes to finding information, it's fine.  It's the forum that's a nightmare to navigate around and it was no better six weeks ago.  I gave up trying to find support while I was on chemo and I'm not sure I'll be back

Hi Canberracraftychris, jess from BCNA here :-)

Thank you for your blog post and letting us know about some of the issues you are experiencing with the Online network at the moment.

I just wanted to get in touch and assure you that while we are currently working hard to iron out any of the wrinkles of the new network, that there are some really great ways to find support.

If you would like to connect with an online group, you can search for a group here: http://www.bcna.org.au/online-network/groups. These groups range from location, interest or topical groups and you can search using support focus or key words.

Also, there is some information available on our website, such as fact sheets, booklets and resources which you could have a look at and download here http://www.bcna.org.au/understanding-breast-cancer/resources/order-bcna-information-resources/

When ever you feel like you might want to have a look at some other information, you can always have a look around our website or get in touch with us to get some other information available.

If you need any help at all -  please just give me a shout.

    Jess :-)

Thanks Jess, I had already found all that stuff.
My main problem with the site is how slow it is and how difficult it is to find posts in the online network. For example, I just got a message in my inbox saying that you had commented on my post and to 'click here' to see the post. That link does not work at all. So I have to search for the post through my posts on my profile page - that is the easiest way for me to find those posts. However if I comment on someone elses post and then I get another message to say that the original person has replied - I have to wade through all the posts to try and find the one that I made a comment on...very frustrating.
I have no doubt you will get these things all ironed out, it just makes it hard for newbies.
