Zoladex & Letrazole or Tamoxifen or Remove ovaries + Letrazole
Hi all :) Firstly, this forum is amazing and I am so grateful for it and all of you who take the time to share and respond. When you feel like no one else can relate it really just gives one comfort. Im 41, was HER2 positive, chemo & surgery done. Mid way through radiation. I have been on Zoladex from during chemo (8 months) Chemo side effects were minimal and it was effective, I perhaps did not notice side effects and was running on adrenaline or in survival mode. Now that, some time has passed I have noticed some side effects that are bothering me and want to get off Zoladex but chatting to my oncologist about it, her recommendation is to stay on zoladex Bone pain, fatigue, hot flushes, irritability, disturbed sleep, belly fat, weight gain :( are the side effects I have been experiencing. Not to mention the injection can be painful. I have to have herceptin for the next year every 3 weeks and zoladex every month for 5 plus year and the letrazole for minimum of 7-10 years. These are my protential options Zoladex & Letrazole Tamoxifen Remove ovaries + Letrazole I guess what I am looking for is to hear about your experiences or route you took and whether the symptoms subside or anything to manage them. Does eating better and exercise really help with the weight gain or is it inevitable? Look forward to hearing from you. Feeling overwhelmed today202Views0likes18CommentsArimidex and weight gain

Metastatic Breast Cancer & avoiding weight gain while on Letrozole. Is it possible ? Has anyone been successful in losing weight that was gained while taking Letrozole ? What have you find helpful ? I have only met two other women with metastaic breast cancer who are also talking Letrozole and their response to my question was to just accept the wieght gain ( especialy around abdomen ) and " nothing you can do about " . I am grateful to be alive but the weiight gain and other side efects from Letrozole are negatively affecting my mental health and quality of life .711Views0likes15CommentsWhere it all started
In February I had weight loss surgery and in may I turned 50 and with that came the mammogram reminder. About 6 weeks ago and with a 40kg weightloss I was diagnosed with a stage1, 1cm malignant lump. It hit me like a tonne of bricks. If it wasnt for my weightloss they may never have found it. I got my referral to see the surgeon who wanted me to have a bilateral ultrasound prior to seeing her. At my appointment she told me I had 2 additional lumps in my right breast and 1 in my left. My head was spinning out of control. Started thinking the worst. She sent me for a biopsy and those additional lumps turned out to be cysts. Fast forward a month and today I have had my breast surgery to have the cancer removed as well as a therapeutic mamoplasty to make them symmetrical. I am absolutely beyond thankful to Dr Poon for the amazing job she has done. I have gone from an F cup to a small D large C with 450g removed from left and 380g removed from right. I dont m so thankful to this site it has given me alot of information and answers to the questions I needed answered213Views1like6CommentsWeight gain
I know this sounds like a ridiculous (and vain) concern in the scheme of things but I was wondering whether it is possible to not gain weight with tamoxifen or is it just something I am going to just deal with!? Wondering if anyone could share their experiences with me xx243Views0likes12Comments
