recovery and life
It has been a week since my surgery for the lumpectomy and node removal. Funny enough, I was not nervous. I went into surgery calm and with the attitude - I am in good hands. Surgery took a bit longer because I found out today they got a rather nasty surprise.....the lump measured 8.5 cm or 85mm instead of the 2.5 cm they…

Waiting time
Hi, After a routine screening mammogram with no lumps or bumps prior, I was shocked to find myself in the positions of being newly diagnosed and struggling with the timing of everything. I was originally diagnosed on 20th March with Stage 2 with positive hormone receptor then subsequent biopsy was done on the 1st April. I…

Hi I have just been diagnosed
What a shock on the 7th Feb to find out the news I had my surgery on the 14th Feb, soooo lucky to be done so quick, not a lot of time to dwell on things. I have been told I have a grade 2 IDC and only 1 lymph was involved. I have seen the radiologist oncologist yesterday and lucky I had joined this group thanks to the BC…

......And, we're back
Hi friends, I was involved in the BCNA online discussion five years ago when I was diagnosed with DCIS. It helped me immeasurably, it was also just helpful to write down my thoughts and fears and have others respond. I was 38 at the time with 2 small boys and one baby girl. A harrowing time post mastectomy and navigating…

37 year old - just diagnosed
Hi ladies, I have been diagnosed with early stage, grade 2, DCIS in early January (ER+, PR+ and HER2 negative). Since then I had lumpectomy with clear margins and sentinel node biopsy. Sentinel node biopsy found a tiny speck of cancer cell (less that 0.5 mm) and oncologist is pretty sure it did not spread anywhere else and…

High Grade Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma
Ive just received results of my biopsy today. Of course went direct to Dr Google. Worst thing. I’m now sitting up in bed at 2.30am with no sleep feeling nauseous as the outlook seems very grim. Loads more results to come to have final diagnosis but to start from such a bad place I’m feeling like I’ve already lost the war.…

First post - struggling with the anxiety
Hi. Just diagnosed this week, still waiting for receptor status but I know I’m starting chemo of some sort next week. Too extensive for surgery at this point. 4 young children (teens and pre-teens). I’m really struggling with the anxiety this weekend. Like I can’t breath. I guess I’d love any tips or just support. Thanks.
