Hot flush and nausea
I have done the search thing here with no result. Surely I am not the only one. Every time I get a hot flush I feel nauseous. Not enough to puke, just churningstomach and feel feverish (but I don’t have a high temp). I also feel like this anytime my body feels overheated. I certainly didn’t feel like this pre BC. I am not on hormone tablets. Herceptin finished four months ago. By logical thinking I should be improving. My doctor just says hmmmm. Anybody else or am I just weird? Maybe I shouldn’t have asked that last question!

- @kezmusc I agree, my husband had prostate cancer 3 years ago and had his prostate removed and he has been offered so many different pills and fixes to help him but all I get from my GP and Onc is a blank stare and shoulder shrug. I could just about beg to go back on HRT to help me live a normal life again but know that it’s not possible. There would be just thousands of women suffering through menopause but nobody in the medical fraternity seems to have a clue what to do for it
- I find it unexcusable that some of this stuff is fobbed off or classed as not common. All you have to do is have a quick google or join one of the many FB support pages to see that it is absolutely normal hundreds of women on these pages with the same complaints.
Obviously some doctors are incapable of gooling. How about they actually do some crowd sorcing to see what's going on in the real world.?????????? Maybe we wouldn't be left feeling like it's only happening to us, is uncommon and weird. - Wow!,,, I am now wondering if all this time it’s been the anastrozole then the tamoxifen tablets ? It’s 2 years since scopes for top n tail as I call it. Investigating my Palin and nausea it was all put down to hernia , GORD and a couple of inflamed spot in the stomach. Of which I Take a tablet which the doc has upped the dosage now because the nausea didn’t go away just not as severe when I stopped the anti inflammatories for the ??? Arthritis.
I think I am just a case of let’s just try this now and see how you go
just some more questions for oncology on the 21st. - I have also been feeling really off and the number of hot flushes has just about doubled in the past few weeks and the weird part is I have been having a break from tamoxifen for the past 4 weeks. I get the nausea, hot flush then left with a bad headache, just start to feel ok and then the next round rolls in.
- Yes me too... have been experiencing it for the last few days. Not sure if I’m not feeling 100%, or if it’s the blasted pills.
- Wow. People told me I was weird. Now I can tell them I hang out with other weird people, and I love it. Thanks everyone. Nice to know the hot flush nausea is just another side effect to try and ignore.
- I wonder if perhaps the hot flushes cause a drop in blood pressure, which in turn, causes the nausea. The rapid dilation of the smaller blood vessels which cause the flush (the capillaries) has to come from somewhere.... With me, I feel quite ill about half an hour after eating a meal. One of my other medical conditions affects the connective tissue body wide, and especially has damaged the interior walls of all my blood vessels. I've been told that this nausea is because the blood goes from other areas to my stomach and small intestines to digest the food...this causes the drop in blood pressure, which makes me feel quite ill.
- Yep. About a third of my hot flushes are preceded by a wave of nausea. Sometimes it's so bad I gag. It lasts for about five minutes. Two years now I've been having 10 - 15 hot flushes a day, occasionally more. There is nothing to be done. My quality of life is shit now and I can see no end to it until possibly I stop taking Letrozole. Sometimes I can't see the point in fighting so hard to get rid of cancer.
