This Christmas I will be.......
Hi everyone,
This time last year I asked you all to post some Xmas tips and we put some of these tips in an article and sent it to women newly diagnosed with a link to the online conversation
https://external2.createsend.com/campaigns/reports/viewCampaign.aspx?d=d&c=96F7DB74A54F2F70&ID=87D90CE98EBF5B33&temp=False&tx=0
We would like to do the same this year. I was touched last year by some of the conversations around how Christmas now had a different meaning for some of you and the decisions you made about what is important now for you at Xmas time. I therefore thought we could do something around what you'll be doing this Xmas - what is now important to you, do you now do things differently, have certain traditions, activites become more important, are there things you ve decided not to do?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

- arpieMemberYep - Presents wrapped, food bought, Yummy Chicken Roast tonight to go with ham & goodies for picnic by the water tomorrow - perchance to catch some fish as well! ;) (Tho looks like it may be too windy to get on the water unless things change overnight :( )
Have a good one peoples xxxx Stay safe
Have a good one, @"Janet A" ..... I used to always work Xmas & the Public Hols when I worked at a large Sydney hospital ..... we were able to spread good cheer to those who weren't able to go home for Xmas ..... and yes, those who were able - DID get the turkey & ham on Xmas day for lunch, with plum pudding for dessert! - SisterMemberPresent wrapping done, food bought, kids finishing the housework. Off to the local pool later today and to the library to stock up for the break.
- BlondyMemberKitchen of the Damned. Elves at work.
- Janet_AMember@Zoffiel consider myself a grinch too! I can't see why we give up on the environment and smash out as much rubbish as we can ending up in landfill. Eat as much food as one can stuff!
I will be visiting my fellow artist friend, 85 yr young for breakfast as my shift working husband will be working til 6.30pm tomorrow.
@TeePee don't despair, I started chemo on December 18, 2014 because there was a cancellation thinking let's get this over with rather than waiting! All the very best, and wonderful for your 16 year old daughter, bet she's excited! - Anne65Member@Sister Ive been thinking of you too as we both have the same anniversary..both went under the knife for our BC operations yesterday. xx
I came out of hospital this date last year & boy do I feel better now than one year ago! Ive done 6 loads of washing today & that certainly wasnt possible this time last year!! It is such a reflective time of year anyway, but I was constantly remembering yesterday what i was going through 12 months ago & how my life had changed in a blink. i was certainly not concerned about Christmas but rather will i survive to celebrate another one! Boy, I have a lot to be grateful of. Feeling quite emotional at the moment & finding it hard to take in all that I have been through in the last year. Funny how the little things that weren't possible last year, are a joy now, when you thought you would never be able to do the simplest things. I hung out my washing with a smile on my face & thought how lucky I am to have come out the other side with so many new friends that I have found on this forum & how your strength & first hand knowledge has got me through this year, Yes, my medical team was amazing & the support of family was incredible but you cant beat the love & support of your forum friends who have first hand experience in what this disease can do & who can tell you how you should be feeling & help you with the decisions on what to do aa you have been there yourselves. That is the difference between medical staff & friends that have walked the path of this disease & knows the ups & downs that it can bring. God bless you all & words cant begin to thankyou for your knowledge, strength, support & love. You are all angels & the words you write change peoples lives & that is a strong & powerful gift. Continued strength to you all, keep up the fight & know we are all here for each other. Wishing you every blessing at Christmas & may the coming year be good to us all. xxxx - tigerbethMember@Flaneuse just saw this clip, so lovely Fran
Buckets of tears !!!

- arpieMemberSounds wonderful. Enjoy your time with your friends snd the vino xx
- ValerieLouiseMemberMy aim this Christmas is to enjoy the 25th at a 'reunion' of sorts with a few friends as I don't have family. We'll be relaxing, laughing, swapping stories, and eating. Gosh, I may even have a glass of wine! Our location - a Gold Coast beach, a perfect backdrop to our seafood BBQ. To everyone out there; whatever you do be kind to yourself xx
