This Christmas I will be.......
Hi everyone,
This time last year I asked you all to post some Xmas tips and we put some of these tips in an article and sent it to women newly diagnosed with a link to the online conversation

We would like to do the same this year. I was touched last year by some of the conversations around how Christmas now had a different meaning for some of you and the decisions you made about what is important now for you at Xmas time. I therefore thought we could do something around what you'll be doing this Xmas - what is now important to you, do you now do things differently, have certain traditions, activites become more important, are there things you ve decided not to do?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

- SarnicadMemberFor Christmas I will be down by the beach with just hubby and the kids. Close to where my mum lives but at the moment she is in hospital and we are unsure as to whether she will be home by then. You all sound way more organised for Xmas lunch than I am to be honest I haven’t even thought about it yet. Only focusing on getting to Xmas and seeing the beach.
Parking wise for chemo we were given parking vouchers and for radiation I have a pass so both have been free unless hubby chose to park on street - SisterMemberI got parking at Royal Adelaide for free right throughout my rad treatment and consultations. And when I had to do something else at the hospital as well, they just said to do it before my appointment and I would be covered.
- BlondyMember@Giovanna. Many thanks for your kind words Hopefully in the days to come I will find out more after his video link to the specialist. Have a lovely Christmas
- Giovanna_BCNAMemberHello @Blondy so sorry to hear the news about your brother. Hoping that you are doing ok, take care of yourself
- arpieMemberWhen Keith has his stomach cancer surgery at RNSH Private, we were able to submit my car park tickets for a refund. It was a real worry up til then .... I was there for 12hrs+ a day!
I was lucky .... when I worked at RNSH Sydney - I worked as a Dietary Aide & I started so early I always found a free car park! :) - FlaneuseMemberMy physio told me that staff get no discounts on parking at RBWH. Once again, privatised carpark.
- kmakmMemberI spent time working in a hospital and had to pay parking fees as well.
- Patti_JMemberHaving worked for many years in the public hospital system, before my current job, I have paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars to park in the hospital car park, so I could do my job. Then, I have been abused by visitors to tne hospital because of the car parking fees.
- kmakmMemberSince my family paid hundreds of dollars in parking fees across two deaths to cancer (in the public system), I have sworn, come the mega lotto win, I would 'buy' a hospital's parking and make it free. I hate that the suffering of others is regarded as a profit opportunity. I get that you need to cover costs, but over and above that is disgraceful.
- FlaneuseMember@LucyDee The joys of privatisation !!! xx
