breastscreen saw something so I had biopsies last Wednesday, my gp was supposed to get the results by Monday, got a ph call from breastscreen to say the pathologist wanted to do more staining and my gp would get the results on Tuesday so I should see him Wednesday. and Im so depressed and scared and such about the whole thing. wouldn't be so bad but theres just me and my autistic daughter left now , friends I thought I had I dont and not a friendly neighbourhood I tried when we came here but was ignored. I have never felt so alone in my life

- If your arm is feeling heavy, you should get it checked out @tisme as it could be the early signs of lymphoedema - it might not be either so not trying to cause panic. Others may be able to be more specific about it. I do know though, that swelling is a later stage and better to get onto it earlier than that.
- oops , im sposed to see my gp if i have any issues , but i hesitate my previous gp sent me for 6 monthly u/s due to having a lot of cysts, she left this gp didnt see a point , luckily i had a scan due with breast screen they found it . so I wonder how this new gp will treat me going back for issues. He did do an u/s a few weeks ago that was clear of anything
- thought at least for mow things would settle , seems not to be , that right b is sore again like it was post radiation , when I life my arm i notice it more ,. is it the hormones im on , is it C sooo tired
- @tisme , have you tried the local community centre, I lived in a small country town and they took me to Dubbo and back which is a 320 km round trip and the hospital had family units for patients with kids. I hope someone steps up soon to make things more doable for you.
Kat xx - havent heard from the breast care nurse in aaaaaaaaages even though I sent an email, oncology social worker at rbh said there was nothing she could do., cancer council only provide transport closer to brisbane cant stay overnight etc due to being a carer of my daughter

Good idea regarding a breast care nurse also touching base with the oncology social worker.
Also contacting the Cancer Council on 13 11 20 to see if they have any recommendations regarding transport and accommodation.
regards Giovanna - Is it possible for you to stay at close by cancer lodge accommodation near the hospital to make it easier given your unique health issues. Can you speak with a social worker? Also there may be volunteers through cancer services which could pick you up. Do you have a breast care nurse who could help coordinate this. @Giovanna_BCNA any ideas?
- i still get sore where they did the surgery of course i think ..... doc says its nerve damage( an ultrasound was done ) what wont be forever?? I still havent got transport sorted, i cant go public transport i have no choice but to go by mini bus which crippled me last time
- Just remember at this stage your surgery is considered curative. The radiotherapy and hormone treatment is to ensure no stray cells survive. The arthritis meds may slow your healing down. It won't be forever, just temporarily. Hope all goes well and you sort transport out.
- anyone been on arthritis meds while fighting breast cancer ?? it seems the meds lower the immune system , which i dont want while fighting cancer but if i dont the Rheumatoid arthritis can play havoc
