- kmakmMemberI had a weeper yesterday. My husband finally told an old friend about my BC and his wife got on the phone, insisted on talking to me and burst into tears. So I was comforting her. I didn't really mind, she's a good woman, but a wee part of me was "really?!"
- FlaneuseMember@kmakm Exactly !
- kmakmMember@Flaneuse Oh ffs!
- Kiwi_AngelMemberI have only been on this journey for a few months so haven’t had too many of the inappropriate comments but if I don’t manage to hold onto my hair that may well change. I just have one girl at work who has to do the “one up” thing all the time so every time I mention something about me she either turns it back around to be about her or tells me about a friend who is having a worse experience. I don’t deal with stupid people well at the best of times so I will struggle to not slap someone at some stage I think!!
- FlaneuseMemberA neighbour from around the corner, whom I haven't seen in months, stopped his car in front of my driveway late yesterday. I was out cutting some herbs for dinner. His mother had told me recently that he knew I had cancer. This guy is late 30s and a high school teacher. He lowered the car window and called "Hi, what have you been up to?" I said in an astonished tone, "What have I been UP TO ???!!!" He gestured at my turban - "Well, apart from that." I said, "Well, I still have five months of chemo to go." He said, "But are you feeling better now?" Arrggghhh.
- AllyJayMemberNot to do with our situation, but something said that was just as ...duhhh... as the above. My sister-in-law had twins, a boy and a girl. Someone stopped her whilst pushing them in their pram and asked if they were twins, She said that indeed they were. The following comment was "Oh how cute...a boy and a girl....are they identical?
