Is that right? Did you really say that?

I do wish that when people strike up a conversation with me and realise that I'm going through chemo for breast cancer they wouldn't automatically tell me about everyone they've know who has died from it.  What do they expect me to say?  "Oh yeah, I know the chemo's not going to help but I've got nothing better to do before I drop off the perch."
