I contacted the McGrath foundation nurse myself when I was in hospital for febrile neutropenia. I didn't have one at that point. She came to visit and has rang me a few times. I was at a very low point. My impression is they are overwhelmed by the need and sometimes you need to reach out rather than waiting for them.
