After a break, Letrozole, continued...
Drug holiday over, today I started taking Letrozole again. At night this time. Don't know that it will make any difference but worth a try.
If/when (she said optimistically) the side effects return, I'll start my curcumin trial.
It's been really really good to be pain (and dandruff) free for a few weeks. I feel it's given me a boost, and more strength to continue.
If the side effects don't settle down my oncologist was quite keen to put me onto Tamoxifen. From what I've read here I'm not so sure. Better the devil you know...?

I too for the first time in many years could not go to the Biggest Morning Tea (in past years I have been the organiser).
This year it was just all too traumatic and emotional that I decided a few days ago that it was in my best interests not to attend.
A little bit of me was peevish at being trotted out as the token "cancer battler".
True God, that statement was said to me a few days ago when I quietly said that I would not be attending.
So thankyou, dear soldiercrab, for helping me to feel that I was not an orphan in my feelings.
Cooler Kimberley wishes to all

- Blossom1961MemberIt definitely sounds like you need to give cannabis a try. May not work but surely anything is worth trying. I wish I lived closer. I could do the kid pick up for you while you had a bath soak. Huge snugglehug K. Love Didi
- kmakmMember@Blossom1961 I am crap today. Thank you for asking! So much pain in my ankles, feet and big toes. I took a Targin this morning and it relieved the toe pain and most of the foot pain. But it didn't touch the bone pain on my ankles. I am massively fatigued as well, all week. So much so that I'm beginning to worry that something sinister is going on.
I brave faced it all day but it gets harder as the day goes on. I just want to crumple into bed and knock myself out with sleeping pills so I don't have to feel the pain anymore. I also want to have a magnesium bath but I have to wait until later. My husband won't be home until 9.30pm and I have to get a kid from gymnastics at 7pm. No other drivers.
At least I don't have to cook dinner tonight. The eldest is doing that.
It's hard to see the point when I feel like this. I have to hang on until the despair passes and hope that the physical side effects ease up. They do seem to be a bit cyclical. When I'm not in so much pain and not so tired it's easier to manage this shitty 'new normal'. - kmakmMemberDearest @SoldierCrab, that's just shit. Biggest of hugs, K xox

I often wonder how the triple neg ladies go. Whether or not they worry more because there is no HT for them. Or whether they are able to move on with their life a bit quicker??? @SoldierCrab what are your thoughts lovely?
@kezmusc
Hi ladies,
TNBC ladies are worried that not having HT means we are more likely to get recurrence yes... :( but we also have some of the long term aches/pains that others experience also...
I doubt any of us move on with our life a bit quicker....
I know today I went to our local cancer unit Biggest Morning Tea, I've been going for about 5 yrs now but boy today I just couldn't stay I was gone in 10mins .... sitting in car emotional and just not feeling like a survivor.
F*ck cancer and the after effects we all live with ... some more than others but we all are changed by this ugly disease.
Hugs to everyone

- Giovanna_BCNAMemberHello @Blossom1961 Here is the link to the Counterparts Cannabis webinar from April this year
https://counterpart.org.au/information/past-webinars/ - arpieMember@kmakm - I have 2 oils - one CBD (no THC) & one with THC. I take the CBD 3 x daily, the THC only the once at night and have had no problem with feeling stoned or 'high' at all. And the end result is that I am sleeping way better than I have for 18 months. You are only taking 5-10 drops once a day with the THC oil (starting at about 5 drops for a few days & increasing if not effective - so about 1/10 of 1 ml - not very much at all.)
There are 20 'drops' in 1ml of liquid.
To put that into perspective - a teaspoon is approx 5mls. Separate that into a '5 single mls' & then divide that 1ml by 4 = 5 drops (which is the 'medium' dose.) The quantity taken is 'tiny' and is applied with a dropper that is marked at .25ml & .5ml & I am using about 'half' of the .25ml marked level (a guess at about .12ml or up to 10 drops, probably less.)
My understanding of accupuncture is that it treats the symptoms, but it doesn't fix/cure the problem. So the needles interrupt the pain path of the nerves, stopping it from telling the brain that you are in pain. When removed, there may be a residual 'pain free period' but the pain will return.
I've gone back to wearing the Thumb restraint on my left hand, to prevent me from accidentally knocking it & over extending it! grrrr - ZoffielMemberI've raised the oil question with my GP. I got the feeling that while she gives it her tacit agreement "If you can get someone else to prescribe it, I'll support you taking it,' her practice is not keen to get actively involved and none of them are licenced prescribe it. I suspect there might be a bit of small town political stuff going on and as none of the established doctors are taking new patients they may not think it's worth while.
Personally, I probably don't need it now. Aromasin is easier on my body than the other two and I've made a concerted effort to improve my strength and flexibility. I also avoid wheat as I think it makes me feel worse, both bloated and swollen. My thumbs still lock occasionally, my feet feel weird and I'm never sure what is going to ache next, but overall it's not bad enough for me to be bothered either pressuring my onc or GP or trying to find another practitioner. I'll save that for the next time the shit hits the fan. Mxx
