So much for good vibes. Scan day sucked . They've called me back.
This may come out not making sense as I am somewhere in between being scared shitless and f*/#&%g furious.
So after the mammogram and u/sound the doctor popped her head in (obviously they could see I was starting to freak out) and said there was no changes to last years scans. Gave me a smile and said goodbye. Phew.
I was feeling quite positive after that until the receptionist rang and said I needed to come back for another targeted ultra sound as the MRI had picked up something. The other two hadn't, yet again!
Oh and the doctor wanted me to go tomorrow and follow her to their other facility as she is only in Ipswich on Thursdays and wanted to talk to me.
So my head is in a mess and the tears are starting, my heart is pounding and I've got the shakes.
I don't know if I can do all that again. I know I am over thinking and not to freak out totally before I know for sure. But FAAARRRKKK this shit,

PM me if you like when you get a draft.
- kezmuscMemberCentrelink fucking sux. How do they decide you are all better. Do they have a doctor on staff. Idiots.!
Funnily enough (well not really) while I was back out the front waiting for my image disc their little video came on the tv.
The spiel of "At ... we understand people may be in a vulnerable position when they come to us and our staff are trained to deal with these situations" or words to that effect your honor.
I am sure the lady sitting next to me thought I was off my tree when I started to laugh. Probably could use another set of eyes on it. My writing skills are not what they used to be these days sadly. - ZoffielMember
This shit has to stop. It's thoughtless, insensitive, invasive and, frankly, goes against all the weasel words they spruik in their patient charters. Get hold of that and address your grievance point by point against their policy. Happy to help knit that little bomb if you want a second eye on the letter.
I've just spent two hours with Centrelink who have, apparently, decided I'm all better now, despite a doctors certificate that states the contrary. I had clusters of people discussing my 'case' at the next desk and listened as they came to the conclusion that I am no longer entitled to an exemption, even though I have been working more hours than my doctor says is reasonable. I'm furious too, it was perfectly obvious that they had no idea what to do with me and hadn't come across a similar situation before. So, some guy makes an arbitrary decision ( I heard him) they print off a letter saying they don't accept my 'medical evidence' and that my lordly fortnightly payment of about $40 will be suspended, forthwith. The fuckers. Letter writing for me too. It makes my head ache.
- kezmuscMemberWow, ok so it's all done. I have come home really pissed off actually.
I have had numerous scans at this radiology place and have always felt looked after and had a generally positive experience there, given the circumstances. I am about to write a complaint letter, not really for me as I let most things bounce off these days but if I was at an earlier stage in all this I think I would have gotten very upset. I just think for others it warrants a formal letter.
So I am sitting there cannula in (which was a bitch to get in today) in the lovely paperish gown waiting for the lady in front to be finished in the machine. A staff member pops her head in to wish the MRI tech happy birthday, looks my way gives me a smile then leaves. No issue.
To be fair the tech had nothing to do with it, I have seen her a few times and she has always been really nice. She seemed quite shocked that anyone knew that it even was her birthday.
During the following 10 minutes I was waiting, there is a stream of staff members rocking on in with birthday wishes and hugs, laughing loudly and even a fucking cake believe it or not!. Yes, that's right a cake in the MRI room with me in the chair and the other lady coming out of the machine room door with bra in hand wondering what on earth was going on.
No knocks on the door to see if it's ok to enter, not even a look in my direction or an apology for their intrusion. There were male and female staff members and one bloke that didn't even have a uniform on, goodness knows who he was, probably the cleaner.
Now quite frankly if I had just been diagnosed, or if was my first 12 month follow up, I am pretty sure I would have either collapsed in a mess of tears or let fly with a lot of shouty swear words. Today I chose to just sit, observe name badges and seethe. I didn't want to say anything at the time as I thought it needed to go higher and I would have just got a half arsed apology at the time I am sure.
Right now I am still pissed off and waiting for my brain to kick back in to make my letter somewhat coherant.
Maybe I am being overly sensitive but I don't think so.
Any input to the letter welcome.
xoxox - kitkatbMember@kezmusc Thinking of you and fingers and toes crossed. xox
- arpieMemberAll the best for today, @kezmusc - everything crossed for good results.
I've just heard from the Breast Care Nurse in Port Mac .... there is a whole bunch of things happening that has stalled it ..... and I've been reminded it isn't URGENT! (Just to me! :( )
it is a specialist bit of equipment that only they have for the biopsy & the one specialist to operate it.
She hopes I will hear SOON.take care ladies xxx - kezmuscMemberThank you ladies. I really appreciate your thoughts.
Seriously WTF @Arpie. They should be able to read the disc and most results are available online for doctors these days. They normally just have to have a log in with the company. Might depend on twho you went through though. If you check out the website for them you'll be able to see if they have a doctors login somewhere on the page.
They'll have to do the biopsy vial ultrasound anyway won't they? So why not just book it in, they can recheck then surely.
Time to start jumping up and down. Agree with @Sister. Go higher up the food chain.
xoxoxo - Doin_itMember@arpie that stinks! Keep pushing! Big hug xx
