This shit has to stop. It's thoughtless, insensitive, invasive and, frankly, goes against all the weasel words they spruik in their patient charters. Get hold of that and address your grievance point by point against their policy. Happy to help knit that little bomb if you want a second eye on the letter.
I've just spent two hours with Centrelink who have, apparently, decided I'm all better now, despite a doctors certificate that states the contrary. I had clusters of people discussing my 'case' at the next desk and listened as they came to the conclusion that I am no longer entitled to an exemption, even though I have been working more hours than my doctor says is reasonable. I'm furious too, it was perfectly obvious that they had no idea what to do with me and hadn't come across a similar situation before. So, some guy makes an arbitrary decision ( I heard him) they print off a letter saying they don't accept my 'medical evidence' and that my lordly fortnightly payment of about $40 will be suspended, forthwith. The fuckers. Letter writing for me too. It makes my head ache.
