Round and round we go....

From today's blog....

Feeling guilty ... It could be worse .... There are others worse off

Day 5 - after round 2

Ee·mo·tion (i-mo′sh?n)
n.
1. A mental state that arises spontaneously rather than through conscious effort and is often accompanied by physiological changes; a feeling: the emotions of joy, sorrow, and anger.
2. Such mental states or the qualities that are associated with them, especially in contrast to reason: a decision based on emotion rather than logic.

Bloody emotions....they can lift us to the highest highs and drag us down to the depths of the deepest abyss.

I had a mini meltdown last night..sobbing tears, you know the type, the ones where you can't breathe, the type where you say stupid things like "I don't want to do this anymore".

Well I don't WANT to do this anymore, but it doesn't mean I give up, I'm over the side effects, the ups and downs, the feeling of helplessness. The reality is I HAVE to do this, I didn't get a choice and no matter how loudly I protest, I will still HAVE to do this!

I HATE how this makes me feel, I HATE how this effects everyone in my life. Hate is a powerful word and feeling, but it's appropriate when talking about cancer. She knocked on my door and ransacked my very being, turned everything in my life upside down and has left a path of obstacles for me and my family to get past.

This is not a "poor me" post, but a snapshot of my reality, my everyday...and everyday can be so different, it's unsettling sometimes..... I warned you it wouldn't be all rainbows and lollipops....

I went to bed with a headache and woke up with one, my hair is all over the bed, my tongue feels like a slug, my mouth is dry, my eyes have dark circles under them. My ability to taste has been replaced with a strong metallic taste, even water is "slimy".It seems the side effects gave me the respite to prepare I asked for in the beginning and have hit me on day 4 & 5 this time....

It's really hard to not get cranky, hard to not emit uneasy 'energy', even poor Rusty can sense I'm not right and is giving me a wide berth...and my hubby, I can't even imagine whats going on in his head... seeing me this way, me seeing him seeing me this way!

I will try harder today, try to lower my "energy" levels, emit better frequencies..... I am usually the strong one, but you know even the strongest have their moments of fatigue....

Love to all

  • Tracy I am really feeling for you today & sending big hugs to you. I still have this to come & can only imagine what you are going through at this time.

After the 1st Operation in February I got some sort of flu bug with vomiting & nausea & said to my hubby if this is how I'm going to feel with chemo then I don't want it, I really felt like I was being prepared for what lies ahead, having said that I know when the chemo starts next month I will be saying yes to it as what choice do we have.

Sending heaps of Love your way & hoping today is better for you.

    Eileen xx

  • Me seeing him seeing me this way........

    My thoughts exactly

I dont feel bad about the way i am. I am feeling bad about everyone around me seeing me the way i am.

I am the strongest one but I feel that I am losing it. So so angry about the way i feel. I am exactly in the same place as you right now. Day 5 after round 2 and its worst until now.

Whoever has chosen us to go through this is very very cruel. I am so angry that all i will say how hard you try YOU CANNOT BREAK ME.

  • Hi Tracy

you don't have to be strong all of the time.  It's perfectly natural and acceptable to say that you don't want to do this anymore. I remember writing a very similar post when I was 4 months into chemo. Your body is screaming at you to stop but your mind knows that you have no choice but to continue on. You know that you will continue on but it doesn't mean you have to like it. You've come so far but still have so far to go. Take one day at a time. Tomorrow is another day. Plan something nice for the days that you do feel ok. I just kept telling myself "short term pain for long term gain". Hang in there and I hope you feel a bit brighter soon. Karen xox

  • Hi Nadine, I think you're catching Tracy's feisty attitude ?? it's discouraging to still feel rotten after chemo is finished, especially after last weeks temp and your trip back to A&E. Are you still really breathless or is that improving? Nothing wrong with being pissed at this rude interruption to life. Sounds silly, but when I was angry I bashed biscuits with a rolling pin, sure felt good. I have a friend who goes into the walk in robe, shuts the door & screams at the wall, good to get that anger out.

Maybe you don't want to look in the mirror just now, but you have a beautiful heart Nadine. As I read your replies on here, I so appreciate the kindness & support you show to the rest of us. Yes, we've all been dealt a shitty hand, but what amazing women you and Tracy and all our sisters on here are xXx

  • Hi Tracy, you don't have to try harder today, you don't have to be strong...... just be...... be you, the amazing, passionate, creative, wonderful person that you are. bc sucks and somehow the lifesaving treatment only makes you feel worse than the c did, but no matter how awful it is just now, I promise you this will pass. There are better days ahead and so much that is good in life for you and your family to look forward to. That b_ tch bc has taken from you your health and that feeling of being safe in your world, only for a few months while you have treatment. Yeah I  know that horrible feeling of chemo being more than we can handle, but don't let that b_tch rob you of what really matters in life - love, hope and the belief that there are better days ahead. And on those days when you just don't wanna be strong, know that we are here, thinking of you, praying for you, chearing you on. You're not alone xXx

  • Hi Tracy, you read my mind. I feel like we are identical sisters as I feel exactly the same way at the moment and have had my own mini breakdowns this week including throwing a towel over the mirror in my bathroom because I just don't want to look at myself anymore. I am SOOO over this.   God I hope we both feel better soon.  I would normally say something to you  like stay strong, hang in there, this will pass, but as I am feeling the same and I wouldn't want to hear that at the moment I am going to say "Get Stuffed Cancer" and "I am so pissed with you Cancer" instead. Sometimes it feels better just to be angry and I am angry that you have to feel this way.

Sending angry, but hopefully comforting hugs your way,

    Nadine
