Neck & Shoulder Pain

Happy New Year Everyone!
I’m not sure if this is related to Letrozole, but for awhile now I’ve had neck and shoulder pain. I wake up like I’ve done a gym work out in my sleep. Is anyone else experiencing this and what have you tried to help with it. My feet are also still weird since chemo will this ever go away? Thank you lovelies xx
  • Shoulder and neck pain since surgery but on tamoxifen. They say exercise but nothing has helped. Tried swimming and loads of physio. The feet could be plantar facitis. I have it and had ultrasound and there is a tear in the tendon. Worth a check no wonder hurts to walk especially in morning
  • Ah yes, even now my first few steps of a morning sound like Ol' Stumpy! While I find it occasionally annoying (small marble, irregular, slippery tiles on Lisbon streets were a distinct challenge!), I am still fascinated by the fact that damaged nerves can recover after so long. Enjoy those massages.
  • @Afraser yes that’s it...I have it under my feet and it’s worse when I first get out of bed...it’s funny I had a pedicure recently and when she masssged my feet it felt like heaven.  I’m off to have a foot massage now 😊

@Sister I have a doctors appointment this afternoon I might speak to him about seeing the physio.  I find non rad side of my neck hurts more 🤷‍♀️
  • I do get more neck and shoulder pain since being on Letrozole.  Actually everywhere that was showing early signs of arthritis (and some joints that weren't).  I also suspect that I hold myself much tender in the shoulders than I was pre-bc, particularly on the mastectomy side.  My next appointment at the physio is to deal with that rather than the cording.
  • Can't help with the neck and shoulder pain but are the weird feet caused by peripheral neuropathy? Most does improve after chemo but it can take a long time and in some cases there may be residual effects that go on indefinitely. I am never saying forever. Six years on I just got another infinitesimally small improvement in feeling on the top surface of my toes last week (feeling in my toe tips returned after nearly five years!). I have no pain (that turned out to be quite short term) but the feeling in my feet varies from almost normal, to walking on wet, ridged sand, to walking on a very thick mattress. In ski socks! Taking vitamin B helped when it was painful, I still take it - no idea if it helps but it's unlikely to do harm. Hot wax pedicures are fantastic - again, don't cure anything but my feet feel better for a week! Can walk fine and for hours, sprinting isn't on, not sufficiently confident about where my feet are. Best wishes.
