Hang on to your hair girls!

Day 17 - after round five.

Well as predicted had a really good nights sleep and woke at around 8:30 am. Did some stretches as I have a really sore inner arm and can't tell if it's from the neuralgia subsiding or I've hurt it somehow...time will tell.

Made brekky and put the kettle on........I needed to blow my nose! I put that off for a while and ate breakfast first...but the inevitable happened and I had to blow my nose.........Dum, dum,dum,duuuuum.....wait for it.....NO BLOOD!!
Who'd of thought I would be so relieved about an event free nose blowing?? Stupid cancer, stupid chemo makes the simplest of things seem mammoth!

After seeing the surgeon and Oncologists this week, I made the appointment for the plastic surgeon consultation and wouldn't you know it it's on another milestone date, our wedding anniversary! 16/6/16...During this whole experience all of my results appointments have been on important dates! Christmas Eve - Diagnosed, New Year's Eve - core biopsies, Results from surgery - day before Ron's birthday and now his one on our anniversary....Oh well at least this time it's not for any bad news! Hopefully all of this will be over with by MY Birthday in October!

So, feeling OK...I did a weather check via the back door....Thought I'd better get rugged up....It's soooo windy AND cold today :(

I ventured out into the world to do what I set out to do yesterday. Just boring everyday stuff really, post office and some grocery shopping. The wind was teasing to blow my hat off and I thought to myself thank goodness I'm not wearing a wig! It's bad enough when your REAL hair blows off your head let alone your wig...

Niagara falls made a return visit to my eyes and nose....booo! it really sucks! Spent most of the shopping trip stopping to wipe my eyes and blow my nose...all the while hoping it wouldn't start to bleed again.

I'm feel useful today...silly how doing ordinary things make you feel that way, especially when you haven't been able to do them......but that will be all for today...I won't overdo it!

I made it home in one piece....Now time to stay indoors, cup of tea, TV and put on the heater....

Stay warm and don't get blown away!

Xx

  • Isn't it nice to have a solid nights sleep! Can't say i feel refreshed though, but at least I'm not up and down all night.....for now!

  • I wear glasses permanently! can't see a thing without them LOL! and it doesn't seem to help stop it! some days are worse than others....something you just have to put up with I suppose....No more nose bleeds so far!

My Mother In Law had a saying "Cattivo sangue" It translates as "bad blood" she used to always say it whenever someone had a nose bleed....she used to say your body is getting rid of the bad blood....I'm hoping she's right!

  • Glad you had a good nights sleep for a change. XXXX

  • YAY for tou having a hood day and no nose bleeds....

And please try to resist blowing it if you can... I know easier said than done but from the perpetual bleeder here it is so so so easy to reinjure rhe inside of the 'trumpet'... I tend to stuff tissues up my nostrils to avoid blowing... Also rubbing inside of the nose with petroleum jelly helps protect it from irritation and lessens the need to blow it on dry or windy days

Hugs lovely lady and I hope the uneventfull days continue ????????

    Fantastic Honey,

My nose used to run like a tap, and my eyes tried to keep up! Put some sunglasses o and it will protect your eyes from the wind, it does make a difference. That bloody chemo makes your tear ducts swell, and the tears have nowhere else to go but down your cheeks.

It is a relief when your nose stops bleeding. It does get better, I promise.

Sending you a HUGE cuddle, Trace xxx ??????
